This is my first review ever, I felt something must be said.
This post is mostly about Fatman's volleyball and not the food or service...the waiters and bartenders and food is actually pretty phenomenal. But their volleyball league.....
We have played at the Fatman's volleyball league this entire summer. We paid money, it's an amateur Friday night league with six people. Run by Rob and Tina.
After playing in the league all summer this week (September 4th) we were informed we are disqualified because we did not sign paperwork at the begining of the year. I myself was never notified of a need to sign any paperwork. We provided them with a roster for our team and provided them money.
After being disqualified for the playoff tournament I was blocked from our Facebook group after asking if we could stop with the semantics and let us play a fun game of volleyball for the last two weeks of the season. Or at the very least be refunded for the last few games.
While posting on their Facebook page I saw that the winners from last year had not even been rewarded the tournament prize yet and were asking for it on Facebook.
We reached out to Fatman's and they stated they had nothing to do with Fatman's volleyball and Rob and Tina are not even employed by Fatman's so they could not do anything. I find this to be very irresponsible, the Facebook page is called Fatman's volleyball, clearly associating itself with Fatman's, leaving a large bit of liability on the restaurant.
Overall I find this pretty comical.
To sum it all up, we are not allowed to play the last 2 nights of volleyball in an amateur bar league because we failed to sign some paper, which I argue we did sign by providing a roster list. It feels more like a power trip than anything else...or some sort of scam to steal people's...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant on July 12th around 7:30 PM and had what started as a normal dining experience. After ordering our food and getting settled, I noticed something crawling across the table. To my shock, it was a roach right on our table and moving toward our food. I immediately stood up with my partner and flagged down a nearby waitress. When we pointed out the roach (which by now was crawling on our food), her response was bizarrely indifferent. She didn’t seem surprised or alarmed at all—just annoyed we brought it to her attention and not someone else’s. She said she’d get our waitress. Our actual waitress came over, saw the roach still on the table, and walked away. A few moments later, another staff member showed up and leaned over our food and tried to catch the roach with a napkin. Other guests were still eating around us, watching this unfold. She then told us she’d get the manager. A man (maybe a manager, maybe not—he never introduced himself) came to our table and asked, “What happened?” After we explained, he walked away also. The woman who had caught the roach returned and asked, “So what do you wanna do?” as if it was our responsibility to come up with a solution. We asked for a refund, and were told we could get our food refunded, but not our drinks. We had a roach crawling over our meal, and somehow, we were still expected to pay for anything. No one was genuinely apologetic. We never got to speak to a manager directly. We left deeply disgusted, not only because of the roach, but because no one seemed remotely surprised or concerned. It felt like this wasn’t even an unusual occurrence for them. This was a health and safety issue, and the lack of professionalism, basic courtesy, or accountability from the staff made it so much worse. Please reconsider ever...
Read moreFatmans is my favorite local restaurant. The nachos are incredible and the wings are the best. I love the buffalo wings. There’s plenty of TVs for sports and I’ve been there when they had standup comedy. Great place for date night.
We typically get great service, but this past Friday was the worst service I think I’ve ever gotten in my life. Our server was shorter, brunette and midsize. She was very attentive to the large party seated next to us (I gathered they maybe knew her outside or are regulars). We were seated next to this large party.
She mostly stood around chatting with this party, but near the end of the meal was when it got really strange. There was a customer who ordered a dessert, and she sat next to him eating some of it as well. We had finished our food and waited for 10-15 minutes to get the check. She was probably sitting with this patron as soon as we got our food and the amount of time it took to eat.
We actually had to get the attention of a different server to get our check. When she went to grab our original server, the original server made eye contact with me and rolled her eyes. She came to our table and acted all cheery.
I’d understand if she was on break and maybe knew the patron, but she didn’t say anything at all. Like, “oh i’ll be on break pls ask so and so if u need anything”.
I still love the food, but this...
