Ginny's Kitchen & Custards — Restaurant in Imperial Township

Went out of my way based on reviews. Wanted to try a shake but only a large was available with a combo meal…didn’t want a large shake so I settled for a soda. Ordered a double cheeseburger and fries. Told the lady at the register that I wanted everything on it…she questioned me and asked if I wanted lettuce, tomato, onion, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, and pickle I said yes. I even thought I’d jazz it up a bit with pepper jack cheese. I waited around 13 minutes for my to go order..which was not bad… the bad thing was once I was on my way back on the highway (just a few miles away)…I was so excited to try this food that I have heard so much about! First I took a bite of a hot and golden fry…YUCK. Absolutely zero seasoning NOT EVEN SALT…it was just fried paste. Could not eat another fry… I was still excited to try the burger…one of my absolute favorite condiment is mayo..(I even put mayo on my hotdog)..zero mayo! The burger was VERY DRY and tasteless! The only thing that I tasted was the pepper jack cheese…the mayo may have helped. I called just to very what are the condiments when someone asks for everything…and of course mayo was included…just somehow NOT on my burger. I also asked about the fries..I asked if they added salt or anything or do they just leave it up to the customer…she “Ginny” that’s who answered the phone said “we just leave it up to the consumer “. Well…on that note..with a to go order and also being a first time customer…how was I suppose to know that I should have salt available in my vehicle??? So needless to say I did not finish eating my fries nor my burger…thank GOD for the Pepsi to aid in my dry throat. One star…and will...

I just deleted my review from years ago stating how me and my family have been long time customers. Way back when the old building was here. So many great memories and awesome food. Today the customer service and cleanliness was horrible. We order 3 things all 3 with cheese. They only gave us 2 cups of cheese, no big deal right? Figured I'd go ask for a cup of cheese. The worker went to the back and asked about it, then came and looked at the receipt and stated you only ordered 2 cups of cheese and if you get in lime and pay for one I will get you one. I was kind of shocked. I definitely wasn't going to wait in line or run my CC again for that. I kindly stated I will just write a review and walked to my seat. We then hear them talking about us and my comment. Was very un-professional and horrible customer service. Also the picture is the trash juice that wasn't cleaned up after they took the trash out. Ginny’s Kitchen & Custards has been around forever, and for good reason — everything here is amazing! My boyfriend grew up coming here, and when he introduced me a few years ago, I instantly understood why it’s such a staple.

Their frozen custard is absolutely delicious — creamy, rich, and always the perfect treat. But don’t skip the food either — everything we’ve tried has been great! The staff are always so sweet, and they somehow stay super fast and friendly even when the place is absolutely packed.
