This was my second visit. I went on Taco Tuesday the first night and wanted to take advantage of the discounted tacos. The service was excellent. They are very happy to work there. This makes all the difference in the world, and it was refreshing to see smiling faces serving food. The prices? Well, I'm not even sure how they afford to sell the food. I honestly thought they made a mistake when we received the bill because it was so affordable. We returned a week later and I got the whole fish. This was a very large fish. Not sure if it is typical or not, but it was enough for two people. It was so big, I could not eat the salad, rice, avocado, etc, that comes with it. I struggled to eat it all, but it was so tasty I could not help myself. It was scored and lightly breaded with some very tasty herbs and then deep fried to perfection. Crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. My husband got a chicken dish (honestly I'm sorry, but can't remember the name) but it also was so large that he could only eat half of it. He said it was really good, and brought the rest of it home. The service was great and the atmosphere was festive. The music was "happy" and not too loud. We were able to carry on a conversation even with the room noise and music in background. The place was about 95% full. They have strategically placed some partitions in between sections and this gives it a good feel. If they were to raise their prices, I'd still continue to go back. They do not have much competition. The only other Mexican places around can not compare to the quality of food. I will definitely go back. Was this authenticate Mexican food? I'm not sure of this.. Like other reviewers have noted, it may be a little more TexMex... but I've not had authentic Mexican anywhere on this side of Charlotte. If I want real Mexican, I'd probably head over to east Charlotte. Having said all that. I'll go back and get the whole...

Read moreI was really excited to try this place after hearing great things, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. Upon arrival, I was not greeted at the door, nor was I informed that I could sit anywhere. After a brief wait, a server approached and told me I could choose any seat, but still without a proper greeting. To my surprise, a couple arrived shortly after me, and no fewer than four servers rushed to attend to them. I was left confused, as I had to wave down a server to get assistance. Once seated, no one offered me water or chips and salsa, while the couple after me received both right away. After about 15 minutes of waiting, I overheard a staff member asking another server if she could assist me, but nothing was done to address the situation promptly. Finally, after further delay, the server who initially acknowledged me took my order. By that point, the couple who arrived after me had already been served and had their order taken well ahead of mine. During my wait, a family of three was given warm farewells by three servers, and when the couple left, they were similarly acknowledged by two or three staff members. In contrast, no one said a word to me when I decided to leave after waiting a total of 45 minutes. As I exited, there was a staff member at the door and two others nearby, yet none of them acknowledged me in any way. I was left feeling frustrated, especially as I was the only African American guest in the restaurant. While I am hesitant to make assumptions, I cannot help but feel that the service I received was significantly different from that given to other patrons. I believe in constructive feedback and would appreciate it if you took steps to ensure that all customers are treated with equal respect and attention. Thank you...
