Usually I take a picture of the food I get when I leave a review, but on this day I was passing through Corydon and I didn’t have time. I saw that this restaurant had good ratings, but there are lots of times that restaurants get good ratings but the food isn’t that special. In this case, though, WOW. This place is AWESOME. I ordered the crab enchiladas. I don’t know what I expected, but what I got was a huge meal! I was so worried about being hungry later that when I ordered the crab enchiladas, I ordered a taco from the a la carte menu. It was also pretty nicely sized. What I wasn’t expecting was that they also packed me a huge bag of fresh tortilla chips plus the salsa. I hadn’t expected that, and so when I placed my order I also ordered a little container of tomatillo sauce. I needn’t have worried.
So, I get to my destination and I open up my food. I’m frankly worried that it won’t taste as good because I have traveled another half hour to my destination. I take a bite of the enchilada and the Mexican rice, and it is GOOD. I am now wishing I had ordered a second plate for my neighbor who is always getting me food when she goes to restaurants. I will make it a point to stop by on my way through again to order my neighbor a meal, too. I can’t say enough about this restaurant. Also, I ordered a virgin Piña Colada for the road. It was...
Read moreFor most restaurants there are four key factors to consider: Is it clean and safe? Is the food delicious? Is the decor inviting and the building well maintained? Was the service prompt and friendly? Generally, El Nopalito scored well on all marks, but is typical for the type of low cost dine-in option it offers.
Located in a former chain restaurant building, the space has been converted to adequately handle the restaurant’s needs and incorporate the New Mexican theme. Customers can dine inside or outside. Some features look a little dated. It’s generally clean, but without any special thrills or unique ambiance.
The service was prompt and polite, with the servers keeping to their duties and not offering much in way of small talk or other conversation. Again, no thrills or complaints.
The food met my expectations. I enjoyed the Taco Salad with beef. The portions seemed generous for lunch.
Overall, this location seemed a good venue for a quick in-door lunch and an authentic Mexican meal. Might not be my choice for a date night, but you’ll leave full...
Read moreFirst time going here and they were magnificent! I had Monica's platter and omgoodness it was amazing! The portions are incredibly big I was able to bring my leftovers home which was enough to eat on twice while sharing with my husband also! It was about $60 plus tip for 3 of us but the sizes made it more than fair price wise. Even the kid menu burrito was a large size it shocked my 12yo son who usually always orders a 2nd burrito. This time he did so but couldn't even finish it! Lol HIGHLY RECOMMEND! We will be back soon I can't wait to take my momma!
My picture doesn't do it justice the plate was more like an oblong platter of sorts just trust me u wanna try this place out!
But, if ur easily overwhelmed by loud talking and lots of people don't go on a Saturday evening for dinner bc they were packed and loud. Lol my son almost had a meltdown bc of his sensory issues but he stuck it out and was...
