Historic Dining at Potawatomi Inn — Restaurant in Indiana

Poor service and food poisoning! This was my first time eating at the Inn and it will most definitely be my last time. My husband and I and our two toddlers went there to celebrate and enjoy a getaway weekend. We didn’t receive any kind of service when entering the restaurant. It took someone an hour and 15 mins to take our order in and receive drinks and that was only because we approached them about it. We received our food 15 mins after placing the order 10 mins before closing of the restaurant. The girl who helped us was shocked we hadn’t been helped. She brought out our food and didn’t even see we weren’t given any silverware to begin with. Our food was cold and tasted off. That was that. Later that night my husband and I and our 1 year old woke up with severe vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea from food poisoning from the Inn. We hadn’t eaten anything or anywhere else that entire day. Lunch at the cafe at the Inn and dinner at the Inn. We were miserable for 2 days, hardly able to care for our kids and drive back an hour and half home miserable from how sick we felt. I’m fact a ranger came to check on us and saw how sick we were. We went here for our honeymoon… WORST DECISION!!! We ended up leaving early. Location is beautiful, but the rooms are outdated and dirty. Our shower head did not let water out properly, no room service in between days of stay, we had to take our own trash out, we went down to the front desk to ask for fresh towels and they told us they were out… how do you run out of fresh towels at a hotel? So dirty.. we had maybugs in our room and told front desk and nobody came to clean them up and we told them they were dead in the windowsills, the pieces of popcorn ceilings were falling on the floor, the carpet had massive stains on it, the bathroom itself was dirty and we had no hand soap in the bathroom… tiny room and all of the furniture is worn down.. Had and early dinner on Saturday. We hard a large group of 14. We knew we would have a longer wait. Place had1 table of 2. 2 tables right after we came in. Ordered drinks. 15 minutes then ordered our food and tried to order more drinks. Already ran out of 2 kinds of beers. More then 1HOUR later food started coming out. 1 was wrong and 1 was missing. In the meantime some wanted another beer and other beverages. Waitress informed they were out of 2 more beers, and the manager had the key???? Was very disappointed in this service.
