Iron Skillet — Restaurant in Indiana

Iron Skillet has come down a long way from what it was when Petro was Petro,the few remaining ones are a shell of their magnificent truckers' eatery self. This one in particular,I wanted to order a steak but I changed my mind at the last minute,I just didn t think it would be cooked right,I ordered grilled or is it baked? white fish,they didn t have the sides on the menu,so brocoli it was...brocoli was good,the fish was ugh! SALTY!!! No silverware was available so I ate it with my spoon from my bowl of soup...I thought of going to my truck and get my plasticware..but heck,I figured it wasn t too bad eating my fish with a spoon,no tabasco sauce available,no dinner rolls. Bill was 17.00+ I gave a 4.00 tip, 21.00+ for really awful food,except the brocoli,it was just right,I will not go back,I don t think anybody there cares. Funny thing,the next morning I bought two pizza pockets and a coffe cup before I left,man!! that stuff was much much better than the Iron skillet's food,AND I didn t have to wait 30 minutes for it. Tip: skip the restaurant,buy your food from the warmer box,you ll be better off. It is sad seeing the beautiful Iron Skillet in it s last leg, with this kind of service it won t last very long...it really was great back in the 90s and early mid 2000s. R.I.P....

Iron Skillet Brazil IN I figured since I didn't want Hash browns or any of their Substitutes..... If I hav2 Pay for them at Least Make them Crispy..... First batch I sent back Looked Steamed and or Undercooked. I finished my Omelette as the waitress apologized a cpl of times saying he Said (the cook) "If He wants Crispy - It'll be awhile..." I Was Getting up to get my receipt pay and leave... She Shows up with these and Apologizes again.... Stated he said "That's as Crispy as He gets them!" These are Barely Browned!! What in the World! Cooks Do NOT Understand that their Performance or Lack thereof is a Deflection on the Servers and The Restaurant Itself !! These Cooks are making Top pay in Their Positions - While the Servers are making $2.13/hr + Tips.... By Her actions - She didn't Fulfill my request and Didn't Stick Up for Me or My Food Quality. It Effected my Mode and Her Service. I got One Cup of Regular Coffee, towards the End of my Omelette - I Had to Ask for One and it was WAY Watered Down ?!?!? Not drinking that!! Besides, I always ask for Decaffeinated and they always say at this chain "Sorry we only have Caffeinated... we get a Lot of requests for it, but we Don't carry it"...... !?!? Tip...

There were 7 of my family eating here tonight. We were so disappointed in our food tonight and our service. My dinner was a Saucy bacon cheeseburger with caramelized onions. I was brought out a sandwich with 1 piece of bacon which was barely cooked and raw onions. When I asked about the onions, the waiter checked and returned by saying the cook said he didn't have the ingredients to make caramelized onions. Plus another member of the family ordered 2 orders of cottage cheese. He never received either of them. Plus my daughter ordered baked chicken and mash potatoes. She did not get her meal until all of us were either done or mostly completed eating our meal. Her potatoes also was a scoop with a old look to them. Anyway our bill was over 80.00 dollars. I still gave a 20 percent tip because most servers deserve at least that much for their work. I would usually not complain but this was a horrible experience tonight. It will take a while before we ever step foot in there again. Thank you...
