The Rosewood Family Restaurant is hands down one of our favorite places to go when we want a delicious meal without breaking the bank. The service here is always so warm and welcoming—you can tell the staff really care about their customers and go out of their way to make sure everyone leaves happy. Every time we’ve gone, our food has come out fresh, hot, and exactly as ordered, which says a lot because we tend to be picky sometimes. The portion sizes are incredible—you definitely get a lot of food for not a lot of money, which makes it such a great value for families or anyone who wants a filling meal without overspending.
We especially love the atmosphere. Yes, it’s got that classic diner-style feel, and while that might not be for everyone, for us it’s part of the charm. It feels cozy, friendly, and down-to-earth—like the kind of place you can come back to again and again without ever feeling out of place.
One of the things that keeps us coming back is how the menu never gets boring. They’re always adding new specials and fresh options, so there’s always something different to try if you want to mix it up. At the same time, they’ve got all the classic favorites you can rely on, so you get the best of both worlds—consistency and variety.
We also have to give a huge shoutout to our favorite server, Jake! She’s absolutely the best—always on top of everything, super friendly, and she makes the whole experience even better. It’s the kind of service that really sticks with you and makes you want to come back again and again.
All in all, Rosewood is one of those hidden gems where you know you’ll get great food, great service, and a great deal every single time. We totally recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a family-friendly spot that never...
Read moreThe worst waitress experience ever, started out pleasant enough. The waitress brought my water and orange juice. Things started to go south when I placed my order for a breakfast croissant with ham & cheese and hash browns. After ordering the waitress asked me if I wanted soup. I responded with a confused look and the waitress offered that it was cheaper to get the hash browns if I got my sandwich on the menu with soup. I responded that I didn’t want soup and she asked me if I wanted an egg on my sandwich. I said “yeah”. She then seemed irritated and slightly rude to my husband when she took his order. I thanked her for her menu suggestion before she walked away. When she brought my order, it was a piece of ham on a croissant, no egg, no cheese. If she thought I wanted a lunch sandwich instead of breakfast sandwich, why no lettuce mayo or mustard and still no cheese! I never send my food back, but it was SO unappetizing. She claimed that I told her I said I didn’t want an egg on my sandwich when she asked. At that point my husband lost it. He did not use any foul language but it got pretty ugly. At one point, she was literally inches from his face arguing before taking my plate back. I told my husband I didn’t want food served by a waitress he just got in an argument with and wanted to leave. We went to the host/cashier and wanted to pay for my husband’s uneaten breakfast and stated we just wanted to pay and leave. We have been satisfied when we were there in the past and the host surprised us by telling us we didn’t have to pay and to enjoy the rest of the day, so we still give the restaurant 3 stars but not...
Read moreI would like to start out with a thank you! This restaurant made me forget the fact that my hotel was going to charge me $9 for breakfast. This place is very reasonable in price, very personable, cute antique type decor, and food was AMAZING. My fiancee and I went there for breakfast because I use to live in Portage and went to the rosewood there once in awhile but was always told the one in South Haven/Valporaiso was better. I'm glad I got the chance during my lifetime to go there. As with most times a menu offers a skillet thats what I get. And as per usual my fiancee said we should get a couple of pancakes to share between our 2 skillets. I had the jewish and she had the polish. Both skillets were amazing. Now for the pancakes. They weren't super fluffy but they were just fluffy enough and tasted delicious. EVEN W/O SYRUP!!!! You don't get pancakes like that just anywhere. Our waitress was amazing and the only thing I regret right now is not getting her name so I could mention her on here. The 2 skillets; 2 pancakes; tip .... ended up costing less than 25... Maybe even less than 20 if you didn't like your waitress as much as I liked ours. This place is a must. I will always take at least one morning I visit back home from now on to go...
