Church's Texas Chicken — Restaurant in Indianapolis

On 9/8/16 I bought Chicken Strips and Okra around 4:30 p.m. I will never eat at Churches again. About 45 minutes after eating I started to feel nauseated. About 30 minutes later I had to tell my husband to pull over and began vomiting and continued to do so the rest of the evening and night. Every time I took a sip of water I would get sick again. I should have walked back out when I saw how dirty the place looked but my husband likes Churches Chicken so I decided to give it a try. I normally have him take me to KFC when we eat chicken but there is no KFC in that area and didn't want to drive any further. The soda machine was also broke so the only drinks you could get with the combo meals is Tea and it was way to sweet. You can see part of the kitchen from the counter and it looked dirty to. I don't know why the health dept is allowing that place to stay open. And the worst part is that one of the specials they are running is 3 chicken strips for $1.99 and the lady at the counter talked me into buying them. I do not know if all Churches are as bad as this one but I have had bad experiences at every one I have went to getting Chicken for my husband. They all seem to have a problem having the food on the menu. Take my advice and avoid the Churches Chicken at Keystone...

Portions too small for the price. Food was at the level you'd expect from fast food. Which by the way, "fast food" is clearly just a term for them. You wait extensively whether in drive through or inside.

I strongly advise using drive through. That would keep you from getting irate as I did standing in the lobby waiting for my food.

The entire time I witnessed the employees play around (pulling pranks, telling jokes, etc.) flirting with the lone girl working, telling stories of being homeless before, parties they've attended, movies seen, talk about girlfriends & boyfriends, all the while NOT WORKING !!!

In fact, after the waiting the cashier said,"Oh ! I didn't know we had tenders up. I thought you were cooking some," to an employee. She apologized for my wait but the damage had already been done.

After getting home I opened the box to find tenders that weren't so tender, nor were they hot, and were somewhere about the size of my ring finger or my pinky finger. I didn't even get the sauce I asked for either !

Overall, I'd say avoid Church's, but most especially, AVOID THE CHURCH'S @ 25th &...

First I would like to congratulate this store on passing their inspection. Upon my arrival I was kind of not thinking about stopping but something told me to go ahead and do so. I was greeted by Jaquan A, that was very personal and took my order with ease was able to provide great customer service and my meal was hot when I got ready to leave. Because at that time they were also in the process of changing out the oil for the fryers. And besides that the rest of the staff: Jahhneise, Dasia, Mandi, Savannah, James, Arthur, Montez, & Josh greeted me as well as a proceeded to go about their normal routine for the evening shift since it was a shift change at the time that I arrived. Thank you for providing such excellent customer service from a person that's from the south side of Indy appreciate you and your staff. I ordered a box of chicken as well and these are the only two pieces I have left. Great job keep up the good...
