A lot of Hispanic people come in here as customers, which was a good sign for me that it must be good and authentic. It doesn’t mean EVERYTHING since there’s a lot of mutual support in communities, but I’ve finally decided after my fourth time eating here, it’s GOOD. We have a winner. Beyond the food, this place is clean, their staff are nice, and they always seem to have everything on the menu they advertise. I’ve never been told they’re out of something. I’d describe Gil Tacos as a taco truck without the wheels. You aren’t served by a waiter at your table, you order at the counter and collect it in the window when ready. But this isn’t an inconvenience at all. You seat yourself and serve yourself. Whatever they’re doing back in the kitchen, they’re doing it well. I haven’t had a mediocre menu item yet. Everything they serve is flavorful and hot. I’ve never been given cold or lukewarm food, which I guess at this point it sounds like my standards aren’t very high. Maybe they aren’t, but I’ve had some garbage food around town here and Gil Tacos is far from that. Delicious menu. This is my favorite in Indy. Also very reasonably priced for what you’re getting. Absolutely worth sharing...
Read moreThe only reason I gave them a star is because they wore masks and gloves. Portion control is important in any business. Having a history in Culinary Arts I understand and respect this.
Yet when you have unseasoned Tacos doubled up with soft Corn Tortillas for the illusion of bulk, which are a size smaller than a hamburger bun... Pollo Taco with like a table spoon of meat .. and Supreme with even less than that...I spent 28.61 - 30.00 for ten Tacos. The Tacos were not seasoned. They jammed them all together and they are so soft that the shells stuck together. They were more soft Corn Tortilla than anything else. The portion size and taste are inexcusable.
If Taco's represent this business they should be shut down. You can't spend an estimate of 30.00 in one sitting and still be hungry afterwards.
Terrible food, which is over priced. We have to do better in Indiana moving forward. As a state we are trying to recover during the Covid-19 and support local businesses. Gils Taco doesn't respect the Hoosier dollar, or what Indiana as a state is trying to do in supporting small businesses during...
Read moreIm giving this place 3 starts because the food is really good but the service isnt that great. I went in for the first time because I'm from Chicago and they on my order, they left out one of my tacos. I called them and they told me to would give me an extra taco for my inconviniance. I said that was nice of them. I even ordered more tacos to that order because they are pretty good but they messed up my order again. They left out the extra 3 steak tacos I had added to my original orde. Word to the wise, check your order before you leave that place. I gave them the benifit of the doubt and fell short. I didnt check my order before I left thinling they would get it right and nope! To top it off, I never did get that free taco I was supose to get for having to drive up theree again for messing up my order in the...
