Got there at about 6:39 no later. They tell me oh I'm sorry we close at 6:30 if there's like five other people in line. Only really your door is unlocked can I just you know get my order. It was so sad and so disappointed especially when you're trying to support a black owned business and they turn you away because they don't want to make the order and then they lie about it and say oh well we don't have any more potatoes okay well maybe I wanted a brisket sandwich you never asked you said sorry we're close you can stand over there in the line and see if they'll take your order but other than that I can't help you. Not only did they turn me away they turned away another customer who came up there on a bike and I remind you it's just not even 9 minutes after they closed at 6:30 and they just refuse to take her order and just send us away that's so sad and I'm very disappointed in that because it's like this if they're supporting your black on business you don't turn them away not for 10 I'm not even 15 minutes later. I work at a place down the street from them but the point is we've been closed at 12:00 and my boss has said while we're cleaning and don't have any food out or anything we're trying to get it all up in my boss says no let them in and we close at 12:00 here it is it's 12:15 almost 12:30 but that's what you do for your people you don't let them be out there and be hungry that time of morning or anytime. I just wanna take the time to thank Terri Edwards and Hank's Smoked Briskets for catering our Fourth of July bbq bash! Both Terri and Mrs. Brenda were very helpful! We order loads of slabs of ribs and whole chickens and expressed we needed our order by July 1, 2023 no later than 2pm. We came in talked about our event what we needed, our expectations and how we wanted it prepared AND THEY DELIVERED! I was late upon my arrival and before I could call to let them know Mrs. Brenda had called me telling me my order was here and ready to be picked up! I appreciated the professionalism, customer service, ON TIME EXPECTATIONS, and friendly beautiful smiles!!!!! Our guest loved the seasonings and the bbq on the food and raved about how tender juicy and delicious the ribs were. I HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THIS BLACK OWNED BUSINESS. Their efficiency is TOP TIER. It is very safe to say THE HUGHES/ THE SAVAGE FAMILY WILL BE USING THIS BUSINESS FOR MANY MORE EVENTS.

This is my first time coming here and it was awesome. When I arrived, Hank asked if it was my first time eating there. I said yes so he brought out samples of corned beef and brisket. Both were delicious but I'm a brisket freak so I got the brisket. While I was waiting I spoke with a very pleasant, regular customer, she told me how much she and her husband enjoyed Hank's potatoes which he smothers with his smoked meats. Another regular customer came and he was very pleasant and ordered a small helping of caramel apple as his dessert. I'm guessing it's baked sliced apples with a caramel sauce. I ordered 1lb of brisket and a 1/2lb hot sausage to go (this is a carryout only place), both were delicious. Hank was super nice and I'm guessing everything he serves is delicious because he just seemed like a person who really wants his customers to be happy. My only disappointment was that he does not have a sampler platter. I'm hoping Hank reads this and starts selling a "BigPoppa's plate" which would include 1/4lb brisket, 1 sausage link and 2 bones of ribs.
