Vibe uptight, food overpriced, MSG plentiful. (or WAY too much salt in the chicken strips- dont really know if it was MSG or salt, but there was an "off" chemical taste in addition to the megasalt taste) We visited the weekend after Mothers Day. When the order taker hyperventilates "form a line!!" when there are literally only two small groups of customers near the register trying to decide what we'll order from this difficult menu, and you get dirty looks from those who seem to be laptop regulars just for having the audacity to walk in with well-behaved children on a weekend, you know that this is an unhappy place. Its possible we happened to be there at a bad moment. A generous 2 stars for having an option to eat on campus at all, and for the friendly folks who brought out our trays & checked on us. That was a nice touch- required if the prices are to remain so high! I'd prefer better quality food though, a manager to clean house or rebudget so that the friendly ones can keep their jobs AND the food quality goes up a notch. Read morePretty horrible for food allergies. Specifically, nuts. Nuts on a bunch of items and they do confirm they have cross contamination. We spoke to a person working there and reviewed the menu. There’s just no safe options for us, so we had to leave to find a restaurant that was safe for us.
This lack of options for food allergies was common 10-15 years ago, but now almost all restaurants list things that are free from nuts so there are at least options.
With the amount of children that go to this museum, and the prevalence of food allergies, it is bizarre that this cafe is so behind.
