Mann's Grill — Restaurant in Indianapolis

I went to Mann's Grille on Saturday March 26. I frequently go to Mann's as their food is usually good and the prices are good as well. My last 2 visits have not been so good. Prior to this last visit we had raw fried green tomatoes 2 orders at that. They were full of breading. Just awful. That wasn't enough to make me not return. Our bill was adjusted and I was fine with that. Fast forward to March 26. We had 2 double bacon cheeseburgers (HUGE). Menu price shows 5.69. No problem. Fries and onion rings were extra. Again, no problem. Fries were cold. Onion rings were raw. We also had a BLT with Buffalo fries. The Buffalo fries were cooked way too long. We let our waitress know but she was too busy to correct the problem. Then I get to the check out and was told my bill was 38.00. Didn't calculate right for me so I asked the cashier about pricing. She wasn't professional at all with her answers. She says the burgers are 7.50, but that wasn't the price on the menu. Menu showed 5.69 and website shows 4.29 if I'm not mistaken. I asked for a manager. She then said she was the owners daughter. OK. Fix the problem. She refused basically. She walked off and sent her mother who was equally unprofessional and slightly rude. She goes on to tell me about how prices have gone up all over the state. I get it. My whole point is that the menu prices should be honored no fuss no muss. Because of that incident, my family and I will NEVER go back. I do not like dealing with people that don't run their business efficiently. Clean up your joint and get some professionalism. We came here for lunch after a doctors appointment. I hadn’t been here in 20 years. FOOD: Somehow the prices are still cheap after everything else has skyrocketed. I had the BLT with a ton of bacon, 1 tiny thin slice of tomato, and some lettuce. It was good. I ordered fries to go with it and they were ok, but a bit over cooked. My husband had the tenderloin. He said it was ok, but I thought it had a bad flavor, like the meat was old or something. My son had pancakes and home fries. He said everything was good. SERVICE: I server was sub par. We were out of ketchup and syrup on our table. We asked for more, but she never brought it, so we had to go to another table to get out ourselves. She never brought my son silverware, so after he ate his fries potatoes with his fingers I finally got up to get him a fork so he could eat his pancakes. We had food left over but again had to get up to get ourselves a box. We basically waited on our selves more than we were waited on. ATMOSPHERE: During lunch a butch girl stormed out of the back screaming and cussing. Then stood next to our table yelling, cussing, and throwing a complete tantrum. No one stopped it. She then stormed out. Returning a few minutes later to yell and cuss some more. All while standing right next to us. Mann's Grill is a longtime restaurant that I have just learned about for about a year. They are known for their large portions and low prices. I don't get on this side of town often but when I want a satisfying meal without the big price I go to Mann's Grill; definitely worth the drive. The catfish is DEE-licious, seasoned perfectly and fried just right. Those chicken and fish restaurants all over town can't even come close to their catfish. I wish I could say I've had other entrees but I haven't YET that's how much I love their fish. As for the sides, they are tasty as well. Today I chose home fries and macaroni & cheese. I have also had the coleslaw, cottage cheese and corn. I still need to order from the breakfast menu because that is my favorite meal of the day. The reviews of the biscuits and gravy have my attention and I need to try them out. Please give them a try I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

November 10, 2022 another great day to eat at Manns. Of course I got the catfish. I don't know how they do it to perfection every single time but they do.
