Mota Tacos is the real deal when it comes to authentic Mexican food. It is a family run business, and they take pride in providing great customer service and serving delicious food. I had an opportunity to chat with the owner, and he wanted to share the love of his Mexican homeland with the community. My son ordered and proceeded to devour the chicken and rice entree. He said it was the best he had ever eaten. My wife ordered the Quesacoa meal. She loved the smoky shredded Barbacoa surrounded by creamy stretchy cheese and corn tortillas. I had to taste it, and I agree that it was an amazing dish. I ordered the Trippa, Cabeza, and Lengua street tacos. Each of the slightly crispy corn tortilla tacos was topped with cilantro and a lime wedge. They were absolutely delicious. We had an opportunity to top off our meals with any of the three homemade salsas, chili oil, and pickled habaneros. The chili oil and pickled habaneros were very spicy but so very delicious alone and added as a topping to the tacos. The best Mexican food in this area of Indianapolis. My one suggestion for improvement is to be more timely in the preparation of the order. The order should be ready at the same time. Unfortunately, the Fajitas order came out first, but the tortillas were the last thing prepared. That one order should have been ready at the same time, not 15...

Best tacos in INDY. If you want to support a delicious, local, family owned restaurant, this is the place.

I recommend, fish taco, shrimp taco, elote, horchata to drink. My coworker swears by the steak taco. They have a pretty good selection of entrees, which are slightly smaller than a “standard Taco Bell taco” but 2-3 will fill up most, not including a side dish, so mix and match what flavors sound good to you. They have a good selection of handmade drinks, horchata is my favorite. They also have a selection of Jarritos and a really good apple soda.

When you enter you are greeted every time with a smile to a bright, clean restaurant. It is small with seating for about 10, reminds me of spots in SF. Yes, the bathroom is clean too. You can order in English or Spanish, I never tried German😅 Ingredients are fresh and delicious. Food is not heavily spiced and can be enhanced upon request.

Sadly, I only get to INDY once a month but this is the place I stop at first every time. Highly...

🔥 This place is gonna give Gils a run for their money!! Located just inside 465 off Kentucky Ave, next to the BP. Great location, easy access, super clean restaurant, very friendly staff but let me tell you about the food. I had just 1 Supreme taco to give them a try. The meat is tender, juicy, cooked properly and the flavor... wow. I was offered a sample of their specialty, the birria and I was blown away. Its made of beef.. idk what they are doing to that beef though cause it almost taste like goat. Carnitas the same, perfect. Im big on salsas and they gave me 3 bottles to try. From Left to right, the 1st is a Salsa Verde (assuming tomatillos) Sometimes that can taste tangy due to an imbalance of ingredients but theirs was on point. Not very spicy. The Red salsa is deep chili flavor, no acidity, also not very spicy. The last 1 is a creamy green salsa with a kick. 💥 Loved them all. Definitely coming back to try more items, especially with the value and quality...
