I am temporarily at a Physical Rehab facility & a resident here (who is over 100yrs old) celebrated a birthday. Staff here kindly brought me a piece of the cake, and Oh My Goodness.
I have eaten cake my whole life. .....or so I thought. After haven eaten Taylor's Bakery cake....I now feel I have actually eaten cake for the first time.
Now........THIS.......is .....cake, I thought. Oh my goodness. Describing the cake will still not do it justice but I will try.
The cake was soooo airy, so light, so pillowy soft, so moist, melted in your mouth, so lovely and the taste was soooo superb...my goodness. I am so thankful to have had that slice because I now know what cake tastes like for the first time in my life.
I looked at their website and Taylor's Bakery undersell themselves on it. Your cakes deserve awards. Have you searched online how to get Oprah to try it for her favorites list? Have you competed in any of the major contests? You should have awards to advertise on your website. Your cakes are amazing!... and yet your website basically says, "Here's a cake, buy it" ...essentially.
Also, I don't wish to hurt anyone's feelings.....but your cakes are so amazing - they need a top professional cake artist to finish off the finalized product. I saw your examples online and the design and decorations are just not up to modern standards and techniques. Frankly, and this is going to hurt,......but.....the custom designs on your site and decorations look like a kid is doing them....i winced when I looked at them and was actually shocked that such an amazing cake looked like that in the final design. The odd thing is ....the photos on Google reviews that customers posted, show custom design cakes on display that look significantly more appealing than the ones you included on your own website.
It would be great to hire someone who is 30 something, is an artist, and has a passion for cake decorating with modern tips and techniques. Cake decorators now are so talented that even the most complicated design wish, from the client, is nothing but a breeze to do nowadays.
All the best towards this company for...
Read moreTaylor's Bakery is one of the happiest places on earth! I have been going into Taylor's Bakery for over 50 years. We started at the 65th and Allisonville store but the last 20 years we have gone to the Fishers store. The employees at both stores have always been so friendly and helpful. Since I have been to Fishers in the last 20 years I can't help but notice the minute you walk in they are just smiling and eager to help. They are soo sweet and always so friendly. Christmas isn't Christmas without their iced Santa Cookies, Gingerbread Men, sugar trees and stars! Birthdays aren't birthdays days without one of their delicious birthday day cakes, and weddings aren't weddings without one of their beautiful wedding cakes! ( Our son and daughter -in-law got theirs from Taylor's.) This past Valentine's Day I ordered my cookies and petit-fours online. I went in at 4:00 on Valentine's Day. My order was ready and I realized I had forgotten to enough cookies. I was one short. The cases were bare because it was almost closing time. Vivian who was helping me was so sweet and told me she may be able to find one more cookie and if not she would get a frozen one and ice it for me. She made sure I had enough cookies for everyone! She went above and beyond and I appreciated her!! She has helped me at Christmas and received the same wonderful service. Thank You! Again, all the employees are so inviting. I love Taylor's Bakery for its goodies as well the...
Read moreTaylor’s had an off day this past Saturday but it was to the point that I feel the need to comment on it. I got in line at 10:20 and I got helped at 10:30. At first they couldn’t locate the cake we ordered and then they found it. I was told it would be a few minutes and to wait off to the side. That few minutes turned into 40 minutes. I was waiting for an egg cake placed on April 1st and the pick up was for 10am April 19th. It started to become insane to me when people who came in after me picked up their egg cakes they ordered no issue. I finally told the girl helping me that I need to be at work, it was 11:10 at this point and my shift started at 11. I got the cake at 11:20, exactly one hour of being there. When I got home I opened the box and it was barely on the cake board, I didn’t speed or brake heavily, it traveled safely in the car and the boarder was iced like that. On the edge of the cake board? I’m a restaurant manager so I completely understand being short staffed, holidays and orders getting lost in the shuffle. But to have people get the same order as me after I had been there for over 40 minutes was insane.
An interaction I watched was with an older woman with red hair working, asking to help who’s next and this man asked her a question and she said are you ready to order? And he said no I’m still deciding, and she said may I help who’s ready? Totally no reason for that, never saw that kind of attitude at...
