Horrible customer service experience - rude staff... This is the closest Tian Fu to us, we order from here when we can afford to treat ourselves to takeout and have always been pretty happy with the food, we even drive over 25 minutes to pick it up. Recently I was staying at a relatives house and tried to order from the Tian Fu on their side of town, but I must have had my location setting wrong in the Postmates app because the location it brought up as being closest was this one, and the address was not readily visible on their home page in the app. I realized the mistake the moment I got confirmation that my order had been placed and IMMEDIATELY canceled the order within a minute of placing it and receiving the confirmation. When I realized that I was still charged for the order I began the process of disputing it with Postmates. When Postmates wasn't willing to help due to the restaurant having already accepted the order before I was able to cancel, I called the restaurant just to confirm that that was the case and ask them if they had been able to make any of my food before receiving the cancelation. I was not expecting the restaurant to refund me or anything like that, I was simply gathering information to help make my case for a refund to Postmates. As soon as I greeted the man that answered, told him my name and started to explain the situation he got very upset and started YELLING over me. I gathered that he was upset the order was canceled, although I don't understand exactly why, and he refused to even hear my questions - he just kept yelling at me to call Uber (they deliver for Postmates). I tried to explain that I was trying to get a refund through Postmates and not from them and that I just had questions, but he would not listen or answer anything - he barely even let me speak, he just kept yelling over me to call Uber. The last time we were there to pick up food we heard him having a similarly heated argument with either a customer or a delivery driver so this seems to just be how he handles any kind of dispute. It makes me sad because I love this chain - they have decent food and consistent quality, but it's not worth the combative attitude and terrible customer service. I highly recommend they hire someone more personable to interact with their customers. I will no longer be ordering from this location, I'm happy to give my money to their west-side location where I have always experienced friendly staff, great customer service and, honestly, better food. (Unrelated to Tian Fu but also worth noting... if you cancel an order through Postmates they WILL charge you the full cost of the order if the vendor has already accepted it (which, in my case, happened immediately after placing the order), their app will NOT inform you that you will be charged and not refunded, so order...

I rarely write reviews, but my experience at Tian Fu Asian Bistro was so disappointing that I feel like people should know before wasting their money here.
I ordered beef Lo Mein and my son ordered General Tso’s chicken with shrimp fried rice. Right away, the order came out wrong — instead of shrimp fried rice, they gave us plain egg fried rice. Not only was it the wrong item, but the rice itself was dry, overcooked, and hard like it had been sitting for hours. The beef in my Lo Mein didn’t even look or taste like beef. It was rubbery, chewy, and had such a strange texture that I couldn’t even finish it. The whole dish was bland and dry, nothing like what you’d expect from a restaurant calling itself a bistro.
When I called the restaurant to address the missing shrimp fried rice, I expected at least an apology or for them to make it right. Instead, I was told I never ordered shrimp fried rice at all. That’s a flat-out lie, because my receipt clearly shows that I did. Rather than acknowledging their mistake, the woman argued back and forth with me as if I was making it up over three dollars. It wasn’t about the money — it was about the principle and the fact that I didn’t get what I paid for.
At that point I told her it was fine, I just won’t be coming back. The fact that they would rather argue with a paying customer than simply correct their error says everything you need to know about how they run their business. Between the bad food, the dishonesty, and the lack of basic customer service, there was nothing redeeming about this experience.
This meal was supposed to be a simple dinner for me and my son, but instead it turned into frustration and wasted money. For a restaurant that calls itself a “bistro,” I expected better quality and at least a little integrity. Sadly, Tian Fu Asian Bistro failed on both fronts.
I will never return, and I would strongly caution anyone thinking about ordering from here. There are too many other places that actually care about their customers and serve fresh, decent food. Save your time, save your money, and skip this...
Read moreI've eaten at this restaurant on several occasions. The food has always been hit or miss. On one occasion, I believe it was a holiday - they were overwhelmed and food took hours. I came back after that experience because stuff happens! I've worked in restaurants, it can be rough sometimes.
Yesterday, I dined with my two nieces, my husband and our son. We ordered two apps for the table, I had a beer and a Sake 🍶. Each person ordered an entree.
My eldest niece did not like her seafood tempura. She ate half a shrimp and took a bite of something else. She kept eating my food and at the end of meal she said she tried but she couldn't eat her dinner. She had a full plate of food.
I informed the server and asked that it be removed. She seemed worried and said she would get a manager.
The manager came over "What's the problem". I informed him that she did not care for her meal and asked that it be removed. He informed me that "that's not how that works. We can't take it off just because you don't like it". He offered 50% off. Not once did ANYONE say, I'm sorry you didn't like your meal. I'm sorry this happened. There was an immediate air of treating me like I'm a scammer or something.
I declined. Explained that I will not be paying for something that wasn't consumed and was taken aback at his rudeness and lack of service.
He rolled his eyes and looked at me so... annoyed and mean for lack of a better word. He went away. Came back and said he would take it off and loudly proclaimed...and I quote "Next time don't do this again".
I've spent hundreds of dollars at the establishment. It's my go to when I have family in town. I was treated as if I was a scammer vs. a loyal customer who had a bad experience w one meal.
I'll never be coming back. Can't help but to think of I looked a different way I wouldn't have been treated that way. But it's ok - The manager told me he has lots of Black friends. 😂
