This restaurant has a decent menu variety, from bbq pork sandwiches to brick oven pizza, and everything I've tried has been tasty. Over the last year, I have had the garden salad, cheesburger, nachos, chicken tenders, pizza, onion rings, and bbq pork sandwich.
HOWEVER, the reason why my review is a 3/5 is due to the hit and miss quality of customer service. It isn't uncommon to receive attitude or passive aggresiveness from the hosts and waiters, but not all. Some waiters are really sweet and attentive. There is an older female waiter here, with white hair, who is the biggest sweet heart and will consistently check in on your table and simply put outworks the pace of any two young waiters you'll see combined.
For instance, two nights ago when we went to check in for a table, the two hosts looked at us with disgust, as though we were rude to have interrupted their conversation they were having as we entered. We asked twice for a high chair that was never brought to us. My sister had to go and find where they were at after returning from the restroom and got it herself with the help of one of the male waiters. The female waiter we had this time was great, and our drinks stayed on top of which I was thankful for. Because in a past experience, we've waited as long as 10 minutes for a drink refill and waiters who would rather duck into the kitchen halls entryways and play hide and seek.
A large reason for the hit and miss quality of customer service and lack of forseeable improvement is that it is supported through their gratuity system. Gamblers can pay for meals using their reward cards. If you do so, the waiters are automatically tipped 15% gratuity. This gratuity system condones the poor attitude, passive aggressiveness, and slow service you'll experience here on average every 2/5 visits . The workers understand that customers will more than likely use their gambling rewards to pay, so the incentive to give quality service isn't a priority...
Read moreThe first time we came we ordered fish and chip and BBQ back ribs at Tapeoom29 inside Spot29 casino in Coachella. We were surprised they were still using cods not Sway. The batter was crispy;and cods were moist. The house fries was soggy and old No Condiment that comes with typical for Fish and chip were not served - Malt vinegar but Tartar sauce. Overall, food (fish)were decent since this is inside Tribal casino. Ribs are Fried and covered with BBQ sauce - not a true BBQ. Today, 4th of July, I came the second time to confirm the consistency of the food and house brewery. Unfortunately, it didn't happen. I was sitting in high table. After waiting a while, Nobody came up to acknowledge or take the order. therefore, I asked to move to the Bar. The same behavior occurred again. With 5 people tending the bar, none of the bar tender came say hi or acknowledge.Yet they were freely talk to each other but customers. Very sad indeed for not realizing that their customers pay their salary. Tired of waiting, I finally left and left the hostess to inform the manager- ( not present) , to look up the word Hospitality and Guests acknowledgement. Should the restaurant was busy, I would understand. However, only few tables occupied and 5 people sitting in the Bar. This is the first time I have felt unwelcome. I have worked in Hospitality industries for decades. This behavior is completely unacceptable and Rude. I would suggest spend your hard earned money somewhere else unless you are keen to have aecond hand smoking experience. The casino masked the cigarette smoke with aromatherapy fragrance. I fact, I will never spend a penny at Spot29 casino. I would give negative star for Hospitality if the system allowed. To the Managers and staffs, please look up this word Omotenashi (Japanese:...
Read moreYUMMY FOOD ON TAP! I was pleasantly surprised with this restaurant, after hearing it advertised over and over at the local Firebirds games I had to try it! I heard the pizzas and burgers are delicious and my were people right! I had a Margherita Pizza w/ fresh mozzarella, olive oil, garlic, tomato, fontina, etc. and all the ingredients were fresh! I was super hungry so I devoured a whole pizza almost on my own. Each bite was amazing! The crust was perfect, the pizza was NOT greasy. My only suggestion is that the pizza could've been a bit warmer, thankfully I was hungry and it didn't come out cold but it was beginning to get cold after a few short minutes. Not sure if it was kept out too long or not? My party also tried the cubano sandwich and June salad , both got a thumbs up. We noticed quite a few people were ordering pick-up dinners at the convenient window up front. Taproom 29 is certainly popular! Service was a bit slow, it took a bit for us to be seen. However, our waitress was EXCELLENT and proactive! She asked us if we wanted to-go cups, gave us extra plates for the pizza without us asking, and was really polite. I'll definitely come back as I really enjoyed my meal! I saw families and elderly, this place is good for any occasion. Taproom 29 has a good ambiance. There's plenty of screens to enjoy hockey and other sporting events. This is an official site that screens CV...
