Booked a VRBO for my sister’s bachelorette weekend, looked online and there aren’t many restaurant options around. Came across the bar & grille and thought that would be a good first night spot especially with live music. Called, asked if they took reservations and gave my info since there were 14 of us. We arrived a little before 7 for our reservation and they told us they just need to clean off our table, perfect so we went outside and waited under the covered drive because it was a packed house with a rehearsal dinner. After about 30 minutes we were still waiting so we grabbed a drink from the bar and went back outside. An hour later (8:00) the hostess told us they went ahead and sat a 8 top and 6 top because those were easier and the only thing they had available now was a 5 top that we could all stand around (this would be totally fine if we were just drinking but we came for dinner and drinks). She said or I could go wipe some tables off and you guys could sit outside (it was misting out) we asked if they had umbrellas because if so that would be fine. She said yes and was going to set it up. 20 minutes later we are still outside waiting. I go inside to see what the problem is. I was told they don’t take reservations, the hostess was confused and we can’t sit outside and that they still don’t have a table for us and can’t tell us when they will. When telling them that our reservation was at 7 the response I got back was ā€œwe don’t take thoseā€ and ā€œit’s not my job to fix it on the websiteā€. Very poor communication all the way around and nobody knew what they were doing. The kitchen closes at 9, it’s 8:40 so we decided to split up our bachelorette group just to get in and get our orders. They did end up giving us 2 bottles of wine which was appreciated. Once we finally got seated our service wasn’t terrible, food came out at a decent time (probably because we were the only table left to order). I’m in the industry, I know it can be chaotic at times, but being told all these different things by different employees all while making a reservation 3 weeks prior to avoid this situation completely was extremely frustrating and the responses were extremely unprofessional and rude. We would be provided a solution, wait for things to be set up, and then be told actually we can’t do that and be back at square one. Would not recommend unfortunately.

Today, I checked out some open houses at Innsbrook for a client. I enjoyed a delicious lunch here. I had the salad and soup bar ($12). It was delicious. The service was top-notch. April and Savannah both waited and checked on me, and they were very engaging. I look forward to visiting again.

After visiting Big Joe Safari, we found this as the most convenient lunch spot with kids. Few very solid kids options for $6. Many tasty healthy options - Salmon BLT and Fish Tacos are just some choices. Full bar and outside seating. Great service!

🌟 Air BnB tenants, two nights in a condo in this AMAZING area 🌟 Well... I've had worse, but I don't remember when it was. First, I'll state the facts, then I'll follow with how I felt about the situations.

  1. We arrived around 7:30, and were seated almost immediately at what I assume was the last table available... DIRECTLY in front of the live band, who clearly don't use a monitor.
  2. 15 minutes later, our waitress came to ask for our drink order.
  3. After the drinks came, she took our orders (last time we saw her), and none of it came out for very close to 30 minutes.
  4. A runner from the kitchen brought out all 6 orders, two of which were wrong. The most simple items, the smashed burgers (literally like 4 ingredients), came without the bacon or cheese listed in the description. Got it down in front of almost-unbearable volume.
  5. we sat for at least 10 minutes after finishing our food, waiting for our checks. My husband finally went to the front and asked for our checks... The waitress reappeared! 😲... she promptly brought out all on one check. She did immediately go split it up the way it was supposed to be. Two singletons and two couples, so 4 checks total.
  6. one of the single guy's was charged twice, because the waitress accidentally used his card for our check, too. But they can't get his money back to him for 3-5 days, because card processor BS.

OK NOW FOR THE FEELS PART. Numbers correlate to above statements ^

  1. someone should have mentioned on our arrival that the only available table was 8 FEET in front of the live band. I realize live music is typically very loud, but honestly, would it have hurt anything to turn down the speakers, noticing the staff sat 6 people so close??
  2. It took 15 minutes for a waitress to show up and take our drink order. The drink cups are, not even lying, cheap, flexible plastic solo-cup-wannabe's, unless you order an alcoholic drink, which is a pint mason jar (marg) or a beer (actual glass).
  3. The menu is rather limited. Only 2 pages in a small book, including appetizers, desserts etc. I ordered the prime rib sandwich (basically a French dip), which is $18, but doesn't come with cheese. I chose the salad bar (+$6, making my meal $24) as my side. It was actually pretty good! Of course, I made it myself so I'd hope so šŸ˜
  4. BOTH of the guys who ordered the smashed burgers saw theirs arrive with nothing on them but a squirt of sauce. No bacon, no cheese. The burgers come with a whole 5 ingredients. Bun, meat, cheese, bacon, sauce. And they forgot 2 of them. For as limited as this is of a menu, you'd think they'd be more on top of what comes on their own burgers. Meanwhile, none of us can carry on anything that resembled a conversation, except for the brief moments between songs, and the screaming and hollering from the pretty drunk bunch of folks (12-15) next to us.
  5. we never saw the waitress again, after she put in our food order. Which is just piss-poor service. It bothers the hell out of me to tip low, but WOW. Not only did she never show again after getting our orders, we waited at least 10 minutes after completely finishing our food, for the checks to come, but they never did. My husband finally went and got the greeters to go find our waitress, who promptly brought the check all on one ticket. Never even asked. So we had her please separate them out, and she did.
  6. And THEN she charged one of the single guys his check, and then used his again for OUR order. But the card company supposedly can't get his money back to him for another 3-5 days. They immediately took it OUT, of course, but can't put it back? šŸ‘ŒšŸ» The friend who was double-charged asked to talk to a manager, who had to come out front with us to talk because we couldn't hear anyone else, anyway. Guess what her offer for compensation is, for accidentally overcharging our friend $40? A drink or appetizer (immediately after a meal?), on the house. Wow. Overall rather unimpressed. Tomorrow we'll go back "in town" vs here again. Incredibly disappointed, considering the...

The Sunday buffet had some very nice choices. Although our own fault, we came in after work about an hour before the buffet was supposed to close. Therefore, the food was dried out and not much left. But it was still okay. We both still had plenty of delicious food to eat. Next time, if our store is slow for the day, maybe we'll close early enough to get there in time for fresher food.

We sat at the bar. The bartender, Cody, I think, was very personable and pours a good drink. He's a very nice young man. I recommend going in to visit him any time. My husband asked him where the desert was that he previously mentioned. He said he didn't know and went back to the kitchen to speak with the chef and find out. A few minutes later, the chef delivered 2 of the biggest pieces of lemon cake I have ever seen in my life to us. Normally, I am not a big fan of Lemon anything, especially cake. But one bite into this thing, and I could NOT stop!!! OMG! That was the best thing to have hit MY taste buds in MANY years!!!

Although this place is located within a private golf course/subdivision, the Clubhouse Bar & Grill is open to the public. They also offer outdoor seating on a beautiful huge deck outside in the back overlooking the beautiful golf course when the weather is appropriate. The patio and the main level attire are casual in the warmer months; shorts, T-shirts, shoes, and flip flops are okay. When we were there, they had just finished their pre- grand opening of the upper level. We did not get to see that. We were told it is staged in old vintage style furniture with a completely different atmosphere. We plan to make it back someday very soon to get the entire experience of this unique little secret place strategically stashed away in the foothills of our precious, beautifully, landscapped by God, State of Missouri.

It really is...
