Agave Azul — Restaurant in Iola

Probably been a dozen or more times since it opened and really enjoy it. I don’t know why some people complain about the salsa because it’s great. I think when they opened it took a little while for the waitstaff to get their feet under them. They have improved their game and now pretty consistently do a good job. My favorite dish is the Pollo Cozumel it’s great. Always fresh and cooked perfectly. And the flan is delicious too. They aren’t big on ever picking up the phone which makes to-go ordering difficult and though I’m in the minority in town I wish they’d leave the politics out of the restaurant regardless of who they voted for. Literally 2 tablespoons of salsa which I finished 10 minutes before my food came. No one checked on me the whole time I was there. No refill offered. 3 employees, 2 guys and 1 girl on their phones the whole time. I finished my soggy taco salad (still looking for the taco meat), guy came and took my plate 15 minutes ago, here I sit, no ticket because they are still on their phones. What a disappointment. We visited on 1/1/2025, we usually go to Normangee but Tias was closed and we wanted to try this place out. When we walked in, we didn’t know whether to sit ourselves or wait, no one approached us. We sat ourselves, waited for half an hour for our drinks (mind you, there was only like 6 customers at this time), chips were stale, salsa tasted like it was mixed with picante brand salsa, the soda was flat.
