Mallett Brothers Barbeque and Grill — Restaurant in Iola

I came into this restaurant with very little expectation, left pleasantly surprised and satisfied. I stopped here because it was the closest restaurant with a decent rating after eating here. If I’m out in this area again, I’ll probably stop again. I know it’s a barbecue place but hands-down that Memphis Burger was one of the most delicious burgers I’ve had in a long time the abundance of onion and sauce dripping out the side was amazing bacon that sticks out on either side by about 2 inches. The sauce was slathered all over it. The burger was very soft, moist, but sturdy, the burger alone would get them a five star. Customer service was amazing. They had suggestions and recommendations on everything that they had even the cook was given me choices recommendations, the wings tasted, smoky, and was soft, the sauce on the wings was generic for the mild, but for the barbecue sauce that was their own sauce, and it was pretty good all in all for the wings I would give four stars for price plus taste now onto the sides. I got the cowboy potatoes and the corn casserole. Both of these sides was absolutely delicious if I had to pick the winner, it would be the corn casserole definitely worth trying if you’ve never had either one of these they were made real well had tons of flavor and was real soft. Both sides would get a five stars in my book. Customer service was amazing five stars They checked on me multiple times to see if I was ok and if the food was good. All in all I know this is a pretty long one so Long story short Absolutely delicious great customer service 100%...

Stopped by because this restaurant was highly recommended by a co-worker and I have to admit I am a little underwhelmed. The cat fish had so much mustard that it smelled of only mustard and the taste was of highly seasoned mustard. I truly felt disappointed.

The waitresses were super friendly and pleasant my only issue was that while ringing me up I over heard one say to the other "the fish special" and the other agreed and when I noticed the sign saying the fish special came with a free drink I inquired if mg meal came with or included a drink and I was promptly told no. It wasn't a big deal but if you're advertising something then you should honor it.

In all fairness I did not order what was recommended so I will give this restaurant...

Although its a BBQ place they have a variety of menu items. Two of us had chopped BBQ sandwiches and one had a hamburger. A lot of BBQ places including Mallett Bros. now use a grinder to make their chopped beef (ugh) so we usually ask for chopped on the block beef as we did this time. The beef was tender and juicy. Their sauce had a good balance of sweetness and vinegar. The fries were homemade and good also. The burger took a while but was a handmade patty that was good size and flavored well. Overall we enjoyed everything we tried so I give it three...
