HotSpot Irondale — Restaurant in Irondale

I was thoroughly appalled at this business after this past visit. I have visited this place previously but never had a bad experience like this. For one I ordered 2 lunch special 6-peice wings and fries and then the guy taking my order claims it was $75000 dollars. After joking with him for a second he never told me my order. Then after giving him my card he swipes it and literally acted like a child and not wanting to give me my card back. Then he gives me my food and he never gives me a receipt. But then I ask for a receipt and it shows the food was almost $4 more than I was expecting. I felt maybe their prices had increased and they hadn't updated their menu board outside so I was mad but not furious. After getting home, we are our wings and they were mediocre. This was the worst ones we have had their, which is probably about 5 times. Then I check my email to see my receipt and not only do I realize this guy charged me for extra fries, which I didn't receive, but this guy gave himself a tip on top of all that! I plan on calling them in the morning to dispute the charge and have already filed an issue but I can't ignore the fact that they are literally stealing from people, which is absolutely ridiculous. I will not support a restaurant that has something like this occur and will ensure that I deter anyone I know...

I would not recommend giving them your business EVER! They will use your card and add their own tip without permission. I called in a 10 piece wing with no fries or drink. When I arrived, I went through the drive through for pick up. The total was $15 which didn’t add up to what I ordered. I second guessed it and asked them if it came with fries but they stated no. I was so exhausted that I just let it be. That should’ve been the first red flag because that’s absurd for wings only when I knew that wasn’t correct price. The cashier rushed the transaction and didn’t give me a receipt at all. To make matters worse, I woke up this morning and saw that my total had been updated to include a $2 tip. The transaction jumped from $15 to $17! I spent almost $20 for a 10 piece only! Now they’re acting like they don’t know what’s going on. I’ve never seen such a desperate attempt to deceive and take extra money from someone in my life. I’d never trust them. And neither should you. The lack of integrity surpasses everything. Absolutely horrible conniving establishment! That was my first and last time...

First off, this is a review for the Irondale at 5429 BEACON DRIVE, in the Grants Mill Crossings shopping center. (Not sure why FB had my location as East Lake, but that’s not where I was!)

I have been here 3 times, and each time it was almost empty, BUT the food is great! The decor might be considered a little “cheap” BUT THE FOOD IS GREAT! The wait was a little long, but THE FOOD WAS GREAT!! And the employees are super friendly! This restaurant is definitely worth a visit. We have had the boneless wings, philly cheese steak, fried catfish & fries, chicken livers and hot dogs. Everything has been super yummy.
