Unfortunately, I can’t even give a review of the food because the host at the front verbally and physically assaulted me for virtually no reason.

I was so excited to come to the restaurant at the Blue Horizon resort and have breakfast by the water. I got to the front entrance, where the host was on the phone, I greeted him saying “bon dia, cómo estás?” Expecting that heat at least say one moment or something of that nature. Instead, he shushed me and made a motion that he was on the phone, then turned away from me. I waited another two minutes while he ignored me and he was on the phone, and I quietly asked, “can I walk in for the restaurant?,” Aware that he was still on his phone call – but I’m happy to seat myself if needed. He then shushes me, and makes the same motion that he is on the phone. Although I am shocked by the behavior, I still stand there for a few minutes. After two more minutes, I then walk around the hostess area, hoping to see a menu or and take a picture of the view of the beach. he then ended his phone call, and then comes up to me and says ma’am, you saw that I was on the phone you should’ve waited. I respond “I was aware you were on the phone, but I found it disrespectful that you shush me and not even acknowledge my presence, you saw I was willing to wait.” He then responded to me, continuing to be passive, aggressive, and closer towards me. In stead of acknowledging my suggestion of our simply disgusting, he continued to become aggressive. At this point, I say “actually I’m not eating here anymore.”

As I walk back to the exit, near where the hostess stand originally is, I stopped for a moment so I could pull up the maps app, looking for another place to eat. The manager then continues to walk towards me and pushes me out of the way so he can get into the hostess area. The area has two entrances and he has a clear path around me to enter, so it was purposeful and aggressive. It is one thing to speak to a customer in the condescending nature that he did, but to bump me so aggresisvly that I stumbled back was shocking. I then ask for a manager and his name saying “qual es Tu Nombre?” He then says it’s not important. I am in Near tears now not only because this has ruined my perception of the restaurant, but he has verbally and physically assaulted me. I am not a Karen at all, but I have never had someone be verbally and physically assault me over a question, and believe management should be aware.

To top it off, he then threatens to call the police on me for trespassing as I’m sitting down to open up my maps app to find a new place to go. I am pleading with him to please leave me alone and to distance himself from me, but he continues to raise his voice as restaurant patrons look at him in disgust and fear.

I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone in good faith, not only because of this person‘s actions – but the fact that this establishment would hire people like him here....

Exquisite Dining with Unmatched Views at Carambola Restaurant

Our visit to Carambola Restaurant was nothing short of extraordinary, marked by impeccable service and breathtaking views that left a lasting impression. Nestled within an adult-only resort, this culinary gem graciously welcomes families, allowing everyone to indulge in its remarkable offerings.

From the moment we were seated on the dining patio, we were captivated by the stunning ocean vista. The view, beautifully framed by a vanishing edge pool, created a serene and picturesque backdrop that elevated our dining experience to new heights.

The culinary delights at Carambola Restaurant did not disappoint. The french toast and banana pancakes were nothing short of perfection, each bite a harmonious blend of flavors and textures that left us yearning for more. Complementing these dishes was an impressive selection of fruit juices, each as refreshing and delightful as the next.

What truly set Carambola Restaurant apart was the seamless blend of luxury and inclusivity. While the resort itself is a tranquil haven for adults, the restaurant’s inclusive policy of welcoming children ensured that everyone could partake in its exceptional dining experience.

This restaurant offers more than just a meal; it provides a sanctuary where impeccable service, exquisite cuisine, and awe-inspiring views converge. It is a destination that promises not only to satisfy the palate but also to soothe the soul, making it an essential stop for anyone...

Had dinner here on a Tuesday evening in early February. We were not guests at the resort, but made reservations in advance prior to our trip. We were seated immediately and experienced very good service by the wait staff. We had Queso Frito for appetizer and my wife had the Campesino, while I chose the Blue Horizon Salad with Shrimp added. All food was well prepared and tasted good, but was just not quite as good as we were expecting, given the cost. Worth a visit if you are staying at the resort. The only real complaint I have is the driveway, which has to have the worst potholes on the island. And, having driven to and from Playa Punta Arenas, that's...

Absolutely stunning ambiance. The pool is gorgeous and the patio gives you a view straight to the ocean. Horses come visit for a drink. The shaded patio was comfortable. I felt that the portion sizes were small. We arrived a little after 12 pm for brunch (which goes till 2 pm) and were told shortly after we ordered that the kitchen staff was “taking a 30 minute break” and that would delay our food. Food came out after 1 pm. I found this really bizarre…no explanation was offered - I guess this is what is meant by island time. The food was good though! Probably would recommend to you if you want a place with a nice view and aren’t really hungry or short on time.
