Had lunch here twice on our stay. First was carne frito with extra side of trifongo and extra portion of rice and beans. The carne frito was amazing. Trifongo seems to be a must try on if you haven’t (different than mofongo in that it’s made of green and sweet plantains as well as yuca). Second lunch was salmon, tostones, and extra side of rice and beans. Very good tostones. Portion was huge so the two of us split both meals. Very reliably open, which was a bonus as we went during shoulder season when many establishments run on “island time.” A polite rooster and cat kept us company during our meals. There was a sink that I used after petting the cat. Would definitely come back the next time...

The coffee is hit or miss, first day it was amazing, second two days it was watered down, and for some reason the price increased the last day I was there even though I ordered the same thing each day... (?). The service is also VERY slow.. like, there were six families waiting for food, and no one had anything, one day at 9-ish a.m. So, have someone go and order your food early and come after 30 minutes to eat. The sandwiches were great.

The chicken was raw. My husband and I took a bite. The breast had blood in it. I showed it to the staff and she refused to do anything. She said it was cooked enough for her. I told her to squeeze it and blood would come out and she said I had already ate some of it and she wouldn't do anything about it. I asked for a side of plantains instead and she refused. I just walked off. When I tried the porkchops, they were undercooked as well but I just threw it away.
