Panda Express — Restaurant in Island City

I don't like giving bad reviews but I won't be going here anymore. The manager, or who I assume is the manager, is very nice and I know it's hard to find good help but they rarely have what I want, string bean chicken, and I've walked out a few times because I was told they are out or they would have to make it. Today I was told 8 or 9 minutes but decided to wait anyway. It took at least 5 minutes before anyone started cooking anything and I'm pretty sure it was shrimp and not chicken. After about 12 or 13 minutes I checked to see if there was any string bean chicken but there wasn't so I left. The employees were not exactly friendly and there were plenty of eye rolls when a large group came in. IMHO you should just remove string bean chicken from the menu if it's that big of an issue. I've had similar issues at other PEs as well so this isn't unique to this store. There has been a distinct worsening of quality with Panda dishes all over. The grand opening month was great. They were over serving obviously and trying to lure people in you know. Now it’s been quite some time since their opening, their portions have literally shrunk to 1/4 of what they were giving. The last three times I’ve gone it’s been about 5-6 pieces of chicken. Mind blowing. When before, it was about four meals worth! What happened? The second to last time I went they completely forgot 1/2 of the meals we ordered. Didn’t realize til we got home 70 miles later. Felt bad because it was the persons first time trying panda and had to try my order because she didn’t get hers. So that was cool! This place should muster a 4 star rating, location is great. The brand recognition is great. I have come through many times and always seem to be let down in one form or in today's case multiple forms. They were out of 2 of our choices(they did offer both with a 20 min wait, for drive through?????). The gal that was on drive through you could barely hear( she was wearing a mask) but I had to repeat my self or she asked twice. My bowl came to me with 80% chow mein,20% entre. What little entre there was, it was way past shelf life. My wife's plate was fine this time, but many times she has gone there and not been able to order the main entry due to it being out. Management needs to step up big time to maximize what this place "should"...
