The service was fantastic! The young lady was really on top of keeping our waters full and chips and salsa on the table! Margaritas were good and priced reasonably well. The unfortunate part was that my husband very specifically asked for NO guacamole on his plate of carne asada y mas with a carne asada burrito, and out came his plate with a giant glob of guacamole in the center of his plate. When he mentioned it to the waitress, she took the plate back to the kitchen and “sort of”scrapped it off his plate, actually leaving quite a bit between his 2 slices of meat. He was less than impressed with that and then to make things worse his burrito (which was actually a ground beef enchilada) instead of burrito filled with carne asada. One of my sons ordered enchiladas and he said the sauce didn’t have much flavor, while my other son had the carne asada quesadilla and it was super full of meat and cheese and he loved it. My meal was ok, I ordered a chili relleno and 2 pork carnitas tacos. The tacos were a little disappointing as they were dry and bland, and the relleno wasn’t bad but I was hoping for more. Sorry to say we won’t...
Read moreStopped here in La Grande for the night while traveling. After some thought and discussion about where to eat my wife and I decided on Tequila's. It turned out to be the right decision. The atmosphere is clean, nicely decorated, and orderly. The walls and booths were skillfully painted with a colorful Mexican motif that is cheerful. We were seated quickly enough but the service was a little slow. Our waitress was pleasant and efficient, she just had a lot of tables and duties to attend. We never felt neglected. They appeared understaffed, however It was a Wednesday evening... We were served the usual chips and salsa which is always nice. Our food was nicely presented on large, heavy ceramic plates that keeps the food warm. My wife got the carne asada and I got the chili Colorado. Both dishes were plentiful and very flavorful! The carne asada was thin, tender, well seasoned, and had a nice grilled taste. The chili Colorado stew meat was very tender in a rich, tangy broth. Of course there was the rice, beans, pico, and warm tortillas. All in all a good meal at a...
Read moreThe food here is really tasty and different than the other Mexican restaurants in town. Food came out surprisingly quick. Everything tasted fresh and hot. The rice and beans were great even. The only thing I haven't cared for is the chili relleno, it is not very good at all. Also, for me anyway, the hot sauce is way too hot, and I like hot sauce. My only real complaint is the servant who seated us, and waited on us was not even the least bit friendly, he acted impatient, never smiled, barely spoke, almost as if we were a big inconvenience to him. Unfortunately, everytime we go in there we get the same guy. When I paid the bill he never said one word. Odd behavior for a servant that works for tips and return business. So the food I mostly find is great, but the servant needs to lose his attitude if he wants customers...
