Chi-Town Dogs — Restaurant in Island Lake

This place has a LOT OF POTENTIAL, but they miss the mark with the burgers. Here is where this place can make a difference, and become one of the better places around. The Burgers. First off I will say they have great fries. Fresh cut and mostly crispy and done right. Usually fries are the hard part to get right, or offer the right kind, but they are great here. The Burgers? Not so much. They have the right grill for it, but the patty is horrible. The Burgers are the thinnest 1/4lb frozen patty I've ever seen, almost paper thin and these are not griddle burgers. With the bun, toppings, it's hard to even taste the meat. If this place offered a thick 1/3lb burger, or fresh grind burgers they would be my go to place around. For the price of the burger it should be a 1/3lb anyway.

We are regulars at chi town dogs and I am very disappointed by our order and the way I was treated today. First they forgot an order of fries, they gave two hotdogs with everything on them when we ordered plain, we ordered bbq wings and they gave us buffalo and a side of bbq sauce… not only that but the buns on the hot dogs are hard as a rock and inedible. I called to let them know that the order was incorrect I called for ten min before someone finally answered the phone at 4:50 and they didn’t even say hello he said “ sorry we are closed” and I said I understand but I’m calling to complain about my order” and he just hung up the phone. I ordered wings and fries via grub hub and only received wings. Prior to ordering the wings I confirmed that a large fry was included. After getting my order and seeing my fries were missing , I was going to let it go but I decided to call. Upon calling I found out this restaurant isn’t affiliated with grub hub and their prices have changed which aren’t updated /confirmed w grub hub. The grub hub rep confirmed I didn’t want fries upon calling and that was that. I was not offered a complimentary fry for the mess up. They don’t want to provide a percentage to work with grub hub.
