Wild Bill's Grill — Restaurant in Ivanhoe

Stopped here with a friend on our way through town en route to Austin.

Sat out on the front patio, service was good. Waitress could have used a bit more personality, but she was good about keeping our teas filled and checking on us.

We ordered the boudin balls as an app. 10/10. They were delicious! That's about where the good food experience ended for me. I ordered the chicken taco salad. I was never given an option of a fried tortilla or a regular bowl. It came out in a tortilla, with a small piece of chopped, grilled chicken and about 4 pieces of very yellow, wilted lettuce, maybe a small grape tomato and a couple pieces of shredded cheese. Definitely not worth the $13, or whatever the price was. My buddy ordered a steak. He enjoyed it, but it was also overcooked to his liking.

My view of Tammy‘s country kitchen . The wait for our food was extremely long . When I placed my order it took them 20 minutes to come back to me just to tell me they did not have that particular item .I needed to choose something different , which I was OK with . It took us close to an hour to even receive our food and that was after complaining . I will say the waitresses had good attitudes , but it was like they were all trying not to make eye contact so you would not ask them for a refill or something . Once we finally received our food I will say some of the food was very good in taste , and some of it was not . My baked potato was still raw on the inside . The okra, chicken strips, gravy for the chicken strips we’re all good . The tater tot‘s that came with the burger were grease soaked and soggy . The breakfast platter that was bought was also good ....

We have driven by this restaurant so many times but were always too busy to stop. Finally the opportunity arrived for us to be able to stop and try it out. It was fantastic! The Neutron burger was excellent! It was cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. The portion was generous and price was very reasonable. Even a hungry man like my husband was satisfied with it. My daughter and I tried the fried catfish and it too was excellent! The pieces of fish were generous and cooked just right so that they melted in your mouth. My son tried the Philly cheesesteak and found it to be very generous and excellent. He also had the homemade chips which were very good! This will definitely be a new favorite for our family!
