If you're craving an authentic taste of Puerto Rico, look no further than Flavorikan. From the moment I walked in, I was transported back to the vibrant streets of the island. The flavors, the aromas, and the warm hospitality made it an unforgettable dining experience.
The menu is a celebration of Puerto Rican cuisine, and every dish we tried was exceptional. The empanadas were perfectly crispy on the outside and filled with savory goodness. The pinchos were smoky, tender, and bursting with flavor, just like the ones you’d find at a roadside kiosk in Puerto Rico. And the chicharrón de pollo? Absolutely divine—crispy, juicy, and seasoned to perfection. Every bite was a reminder of why I fell in love with Puerto Rican food in the first place.
What truly stood out was the freshness of everything. Each dish was made to order and served piping hot, a testament to the care and attention that goes into the food here. The mayochip (a mayo-ketchup dipping sauce) was a standout—creamy, tangy, and the perfect accompaniment to just about everything.
The owner, Stephanie, was hands-on, ensuring every detail was perfect. Her passion for her culture and cuisine was evident in every aspect of the restaurant. The staff mirrored her warmth and professionalism, making us feel right at home. The restaurant itself was spotless, with a clean and inviting atmosphere that added to the overall experience.
In short, Flavorikan is a gem. Whether you’re a Puerto Rican native missing the flavors of home or someone looking to explore the island’s cuisine for the first time, this place is a must-visit. I can’t wait to go back and try more of their delicious offerings....
Read moreI was so excited to finally try this place. I had been following their journey on Instagram and finally decided to give them a shot. I invited my parents and family to come with me. We got there and the music was so loud you couldn’t even talk to the person standing next to you. There are no menus, just a board with bad hand writing and small smudged letters in the most dimly lit spot in the restaurant. The whole back wall was stacked with furniture like you were at a restaurant after closing. The chairs for people to sit in still had plastic wrappers over them like they had just arrived from the store. We went to order and they told us what we wanted wasn’t on the menu for that day, that only what was on the board was what was available. We told them it was on the board and they simply replied ‘Sorry, that was yesterday’s menu’ when we asked what the menu for today was, they said to look at the same board. They had no white rice or beans, only arroz con gandules. The attitude of the employees and just the overall atmosphere really put us off. We ended up just leaving since they were out of everything we asked about or told us that was yesterday’s menu and no longer available. Super disappointed! I quickly unfollowed them on Insta and will not be returning and will definitely share our experience with friends that were also looking for a good spot locally, this is definitely not it. They need to get organized, train the employees, have a visible menu (even if digital), and lower the music or place the speaker in a spot that isn’t near the front door. If they keep going the way they are, they won’t last long. Lots of potential with...
Read moreWent on a Saturday night. Wanted to have dinner with some friends before the T Swims concert. Go there at 6:20 concert at 8. First the good, the band they had was fantastic. Good latin music. Now the bad. No waitresses, you have to order your food at the counter. This particular night, they were way understaffed. After you order, you can only pay with a cash app, Venmo, Zelle, and so on. You just order and they add on their phone and you pay. No receipt or have any idea what you paid for. After 35 minutes of waiting for our food, we inquired as to why so long. They said we are busy tonight, but it was coming. After an hour of waiting we decided that we needed to leave for the concert and wanted a refund. The waitress/bartender said that they were busy and when she checked on our ticket, there were still too orders ahead of our. Our food was not even cooked yet. We were then approached by a female that said we were busy and no refund. Very unprofessional staff in dealing with the situation. We explained our situation, but to no avail. Finally, before we left, we were told we were not welcomed back. If you're looking for self service, rude employees, and an hour plus for your food. You found it at Flavorikan. Where the customer has no rights.
Mr. Owner, we arrived at 6:20 and at 7:30 our food had not even been cooked. In fact there were two tickets still to be processed before they would get to ours. The funny part is that the folks I was with are Puerto Rican and we were looking forward to eating at your restaurant. TY for representing and such a positive...
