When you walk in the place it is certainly a blast from the past, just looking around for a few seconds you feel like you're in no later than the mid 2000s, I really do love the nostalgia but it is also the reason for the 3 star in atmosphere as the atmosphere is very 90s and 2000s, pretty bland and basic, however don't let that sway you, the service, the service was great, the lady who served me treated me nicely and gave me time to look over the menu before ordering, the gentlemen who handed me my food also handed it to me with a pleasant attitude and a smile, but above all that, the food, I ordered the bourbon chicken, it took about 5-10 minutes to come out but was still piping hot by the time I got home and cooked fresh, the rice, comes in a small typical looking Chinese container you see in movies and TV shows however despite small, the rice is very packed in and was able to feed me and my brother with just the one thing of rice, the chicken, when I opened the container I was astonished, not just by the sheer amount of food but by the fact that they actually gave a good amount of vegetables instead of 95% protein like most Chinese places do, again the chicken and vegetables was so much it fed me and my brother and I almost couldn't even eat it all, the taste, the vegetables were cooked nicely and still retained a nice crunch to them, the chicken as far as taste, was pretty astounding, every bite had me wanting to take another, the sauce was great, the texture was perfect, my only complaint was the outside was a tad tough and it could've been a bit more moist on the inside but other than that no complaints here as it was only 11.88 for two peoples worth of food!
I will 100% recommend this place to everyone who loves American Chinese food, just make sure you don't get the combos as they lessen the portion to 1 and all you get rlly is a choice of fried rice or white and an eggroll, not worth it to me but still not bad considering it's 9.99, go for the non combos as they don't cost much more and provide so much more...
Read moreI was a walk in and ordered a sweet and sour chicken and modified curry beef. Curry beef isn’t on the menu under beef so I always appreciate when a place will make it for me. The woman taking my order was clear and thorough with understanding my order as I modified my order a bit. She was very friendly and nice. It took about 10 mins to make. Food was hot and exactly as ordered when I got home. So 10/10.
Just a couple little tiny things that could be, in my opinion, improved. My curry beef could be a bit more spicy. I might try and order extra spicy next time to remedy this. Still very delicious. A couple of the quarter machines were empty. This is nitpicking as this has no effect on my experience whatsoever. Just think it would be more aesthetically pleasing that it be...
Read moreMost recently we've noticed new faces cooking for this location. It's not the best Chinese cuisine I've experienced. If one is hungry, eating is better than not eating. Most dishes are done in 10 minutes. I can say the yellow rice is not proper Chinese fired rice at all. On several occasions the yellow rice was a bit under done. I tend to stay with the basics with this franchise....fried wings, pepper steak and shrimp egg foo young.
Earlier in the week my daughter and I ordered 2 orders of chicken wings. HORRIBLE, TASTELESS....NO SEASONING WHAT SO EVER. With that said...when you know better, you do better. Hot Wok....needs to do better. I'll order from there again and also strongly suggest they make sure to season the wings. Other than that...they're...
