Hunan Wok — Restaurant in Jacksonville

We love Hunan Wok and have never been dissatisfied with anything that we have had delivered. We usually order the General Tso's Chicken and the 18 pc crispy shrimp, or either the House Fried Rice and crab wontons. Lately, I had tried the Beef and Broccoli, which was absolutely wonderful - the beef was lean and tasted like Steak.

On Thursday night, I decided to try the Beef and Broccoli again. This time, something was strangely different. It was inedible. I was shocked. The beef, without a doubt- could NOT have been beef. It had a very strange appearance, almost a grayish color - and when biting into it, the texture was like something I had never experienced. Very hard to describe this texture; almost a 'fatty' cut, yet I couldn't get past the flavor - - or the lack of it. Very strange experience. Due to the hour (was almost 9 pm when we were finished) and the distance, did not return the Beef n Broccoli for an exchange or refund. Someone joked that I was eating dog or cat meat, but from what I hear, it would've even been an improvement over whatever I was served as "Beef" and Broccoli. The broccoli was great, but an expensive meal at $8.95. I will never order this again, and when I call again for delivery, will definitely bring this to their attention (Ms....

I've been a long-time customer at their establishment for a long time now. And I ordered or tried to order lunch today for delivery and I wanted a four piece wing plate with fries because I was only ordering for myself and they wanted me to pay a minimum of $15 and I refused because I don't see the point in paying $15 for lunch for just myself. The $15 minimum requirement to order food is ridiculous and out of the ordinary if you're only ordering for one person, not everybody orders for a ton of people when they choose to eat here. I believe this establishment needs to learn to be more reasonable and loyal to their customers who are loyal to their business! And also don't let the date fool you of when I posted this review, I'm posting this as of today, Wednesday, November 8, 2017....

I really hate leaving a review this negative for any business, large or small but I have to be honest here. We're not local and are here in Florida visiting relatives. We decided to try them out based on the mostly positive reviews. I can only assume most of these folks have never had really good Chinese food. Out of 3 dishes ordered, each was just awful. How does one even prepare white meat chicken to get it to have a blubber like texture? A Hunan sauce that has no zip, fried rice that has no flavor and egg rolls that taste like rancid oil.
