Second time having pupusas so I’m offering this review from a relatively uninitiated perspective. My daughters (11 and under) and I were standing back looking over the menu and one of the staff was very friendly and helpful, walking out of the truck to explain everything. The menu is simple (mostly pupusas with different filling options) so it was mostly my daughters being indecisive but the help was nevertheless appreciated and welcoming since we were the only non-Spanish speaking customers there.
We tried the revueltas (pork and cheese), loroco, chicken and cheese, and chorizo and cheese. All were delicious. For those who aren’t familiar, pupusas are a lot like an arepa except the filling is cooked into it in more of a savory pancake format served with a spicy slaw and mild red sauce. Expect it to be a little less meat heavy than you’d expect from a taco or burrito. For those concerned about heat, everything was relatively mild other than a slight kick from jalapeño in the slaw. I could certainly use more spice but thoroughly enjoyed nonetheless (nor do I know if that would be authentic).
On the beverage side, we enjoyed a horchata and mora. The horchata here and at the other pupusa truck we had previously had a different, more savory note to them than most Mexican horchatas we’ve had. I enjoyed it but just something to note.
I was very satisfied and the pupusas might be my kids new favorite food. Combined with friendly service, we will definitely be back. Thanks for...
