My family and I are dismayed, upset, angry, disgusted and appalled at what happened during a family outing to Sonny’s BBQ restaurant on Lane Avenue and this is a warning to anyone who might consider eating there. When we received our food, my husband opened his pork sandwich to put BBQ sauce on it. When he flipped it over to put sauce on the bottom of the sandwich there was a raw, ice cold piece of chicken skin on it. Talk about being grossed out! Our waitress was shocked and got the manager. He initially said it was cooked chicken and then he realized it wasn’t. It’s bad enough that this happened, but it’s what happened afterwards that blew us away! The manager never came back to our table so my husband went up to the cash register where the manager was to ask what was going on. He stated he was comping our meal, no explanation for what happened and no apology. What happened next was indescribable- the kitchen staff and 2 waitresses (not ours) were observed laughing and taunting my husband holding up raw chicken behind his back. Can you imagine this? The manager says he didn’t see this but others did. We sent an email to Sonny’s and called the police because of the kitchen staff’s behavior - it was clear they thought it was funny and we believe they purposely put raw chicken on his pork sandwich. The police took a report and talked to the manager and owner but nothing happened. In fact the manager had the gall to say that he thought we brought the chicken in with us!!! Are you kidding me???The people who did this were not fired so they are still there and will likely pull one of these stunts again. That’s why I’m telling you this - you are forewarned. Eat at Sonny’s at your own risk. I can assure you we will NEVER eat there again and neither will anyone in our family. It is such a shame that society has stooped to such lows. Took my son to the restroom while waiting on order and it was not the cleanest to the point my son made a comment. I asked for more ranch for extra ranch when placing the order and was told “I put 4 in there is that enough?”. That is barely enough for the egg rolls and the salads let alone extra. I did not get sauce for the egg rolls. I asked for more and said I was willing to pay and was told they would get me two more. When I get the order home the ribs are all end pieces and what was supposed to be sweet and Smokey was dry and not edible, the chicken was the same way. The sliced pork was good I just wish I would have only gotten that. Complete waste of $65 and waste of time as I had to still go get myself and my wife dinner. If you wouldn’t serve it to me in your restaurant as I know they would not put this on someone’s plate to their face. Why would you send it home with me. I didn’t order through door dash and if the company uses them as a third party that has nothing to do With me. The young lady who answered the phone did attempt to be helpful and said I could come Pick my family order up. But neither of the cars were home which is why I ordered delivery in the first place. I asked if I could just re order and wait for the refund . I was placed on hold to get a manager. The manager got on the phone who was RUDE. And told me again to contact door dash because i ordered through them to get a refund. At this point im irritated because I didn’t ask her for a refund nor did i order through door dash.
