New Wah Garden — Restaurant in Jay

We're new to Maine and happened upon this place. What a find! Szechuan tofu + the most deliciously lightly cooked veggies = perfect! The only thing we'll say is that the food isn't spicy by our standards.. perhaps Mainers don't like heat? So if you do you'll want to ask for it. We definitely will next time. Otherwise.. it's awesome! The servings are huge. Too huge, actually: be prepared to share & pig out.

Everyone who works there was great. So nice. And anyone that can work in customer service and still be nice is a rare find. I don't know how they do it.. because customers are the absolute worst.

It was the worst Chinese food I have every ate. I ordered a poo poo platter and the crab ragoons have no crab or cream cheese in them. Everything in the platter was very lowgrade Chinese food. The bathrooms looked very unclean as well. It is hot in the restrant in the summer because they have no air conditioning. I have ate Chinese food all over Maine, tin tin buffet, Asian eatary, ocean pearl, lotus, panda garden, hunnan house and China wok, all great restaurants and comparable with one another in quality, Wah Garden is not comparable to these other Chinese restaurants. If i ccoud give this place negative stars i would. Their so called "daily specials" arnt really specials they still charge you full price and you dont even get the fried rice like your supposed to. Then they charge rediculous amout after taxes. I went in and complained and the lady tried to charge me 2 dollars exctra for the rice i was supposed to get in the first place. Then when i didnt have the 2 dollars she took some of my food out and still wouldnt give me the difference she owed me. So i ended up paying full price for something that was on special.
