Wow! A restaurant of this caliber hidden in the very center of Puerto Rico! Definitely this place ranks up there in Puerto Rican food and I wouldn't be surprise to see it expand to San Juan to get more exposure. It is located in Jayuya, which is such a beautiful town. Even thought Jayuya is modernized, the town still preserves that old traditional feel of Puerto Rico. For example, I asked a random person help finding a house number and not only he pointed me to the right direction, he knew whose house I was visiting!
Anyways, more on the restaurant. The food quality was superb! The Mofongo stuffed with Octopus was to die for. Delicious creamy soft octopus on that delicious tender mofongo was just incredible. A definite 5-star dish. Service was amazing. Friendly staff who'd talk to you and even helped us find a route to our next destination. They are located on what you will call their main road and we found a parking spot right in front of them.
I will not lie, and driving to Jayuya from San Juan is a trek, but the mountain and country views you get on the way makes the trip worth it. Just don't rely 100% on your GPS but there aren't too many different streets you have to switch to so relatively is...
