La Perla II — Restaurant in Jefferson City

This was the worst experience with a restaurant I have had. I have always prided myself on being a easy to please person. When I received my order it was very close to the opposite of what I had ordered and I double checked to make sure i was not at fault. They where very rude to me while I was trying to figure out the situation. I never once used a disrespectful tone with them but that is what I got. I asked to just return the food and I was going to just let it all go not review or bad mouth. All I wanted was my hard earned money so I could buy my family dinner. I went to La Perla II recently based on their positive reviews. WOW! I guess there are a lot of people who just haven't had good mexican food. I am giving two stars because the lady behind the counter was very personable. The food, however, was REALLY disappointing. The tamale was hard and dry and the chimichanga left a lot to be desired as far as flavor and texture. I thought maybe it was just an off day, but I spoke to a friend who has visited the La Perla in Greeneville, TN and she, too, thought the food was gross. I ordered a soft shell taco and a Carne Asada Torta and the bread was great, as well as the cheese tomato and lettuce... but the meat that was on it was disgusting. It was so fatty and grissley and it honestly looked like dog food. Not going back after that. I hurt my tooth on one of the pieces because it was so hard. They need to upgrade the quality...
