Had a awful experience and will never go back. We had a reservation for 5 people,At the last minute the fifth person canceled. When I went to the restaurant I apologized and said that there was going to only be four of us. The hostess just told us that since There is only four of us that our reservation will not be excepted because they only except reservations for five or more. She said the wait would be about 40 minutes. We said no problem we went downstairs had some cocktails and after an hour waiting my husband went upstairs and asked the hostess what the problem was. She said that they were waiting for available tables. Yet he saw several available tables inside, and three tables outside, available. Shortly after we were Seated inside, Even though we asked to be set outside they said that the outside table had been reserved. We noticed the two tables that were seated outside a party of two came in and a party at four. If they say they only take reservations for five then how could the two parties that came in be seated outside. Shortly after the that the manager Kaitlin came to our table. She Was possibly the most unprofessional and rudest person. She accuse my husband of making the hostess cry. He did no such thing. He apologized to her and explain the situation and she was unhelpful and unsympathetic and unprofessional. Our waiter Albert was wonderful. My husband later went to the hostess and apologize if he had made anybody cry. They looked at him and said that that never happened. I will never go back to Alice’s again this is not the first time that I’ve had a bad experience there but it was definitely the last. We live on the lake and would frequently go there but never again. They need need management!!! Never again! Food was just alright. Even though the atmosphere is nice . We had our post-wedding brunch at Alice's and our experience was flawless from start to finish. We love this restaurant not only because of the incredible view of Lake Hopatcong (and the giant sliding doors that give you an outside while inside feel) but because of the team who works there! Kim and Katherine made booking the event so easy, laying out all the potential packages and helping us weigh which options were best for a group of our size. They suggested a table layout and seating arrangement so all we had to do was place the names at the tables. Samantha created the most beautiful floral centerpieces for our tables that looked gorgeous with the linens they provided. We were able to drop off our party favors the night before so all we had to do was show up on the day of our event and everything was set up, looking beautiful. We decided last minute to play the video of our ceremony for our guests, and without hesitation, Samantha tastefully set up a TV in the space so guests didn't have to watch off my computer. We did a combination of breakfast foods plus penne vodka and balsamic chicken. Everything was outstanding. My mother-in-law said the scrambled eggs were the best she's ever had. Nikki, Jules and Payton on the waitstaff were so kind and attentive to the needs of all of our guests (plus always checking on us to see if we wanted or needed anything personally).
