My first mistake going here was this place only takes cash & it’s not posted online or anywhere outside the business. So as i go to pay i’m told it’s only cash or check(???) like it’s 1957. So i have to go on a wild goose chase looking for an atm which leads me to 2 different locations neither of which has one, so i end up going to Walgreens and have to pay a $3.25 surcharge in addition to whatever my bank charges. Then once i got back to the store the young pizza faced boy throws my change on the counter. On top of that the 95 year old woman whispered something to the youngin as soon as I walked in after she looked at me. I’d avoid this place if you’re looking for something tasty cuz the carrot cake was as dry as desert sand & the cheese sticks was old & stale. Definitely not worth the $26 dollars I ended up paying. The food was stale but the racism was served fresh so unless you’re looking for a sweet dose of hate I’d leave this place off the list of places to visit when in the Chicago area

I bought 4 balvarian cream paczki and a cheese stick. The cheese stick is always very delicious. The filling for your paczki is terrible. Yall have to do something about that! I have had the fruit filling before and its like you just use some can jelly and slap it in the paczki. The balvarian cream looks homemade but its not very good. The paczki itself, the dough is excellent! The best dough i had thus far. Better than stan doughnuts, better than Schiegl, better than Dunkin and other places i've been to. Please go to Schiegl on Touhy by crawdford and taste their balvarian cream doughnut. Their cream is excellent. If you put that cream in your paczki i would pay $8 for one! If you are a true baker go try it. Or i can bring you a few to try let me know.

I just wanted to drop a note and thank you all for making us an incredible cake. I called and spoke with Diane and described the cake we needed for my niece's baby shower. Not only did we get far more than we expected, the cake was absolutely perfect. The details of the cake were better than I would have imagined. The taste was perfect. I wanted to cry when I saw the cake come out. It was a disco themed cake. I can't get over how perfect it all was. Our guests loved the cake and complicated it over and over again. Thank you for the special attention and for your perfectionism and professionalism. You guys are incredible!!!!!!!

Although their coffee cakes are good, cannot rate the baked goods high since their customer service is horrible. They only take cash, so they get their money’s worth from customers by not having to claim it on their taxes. But they have no allegiance to paid customers, not even those who are long term. More than once (and happened again today), we’ve gone home with the wrong product. They not only don’t apologize or seem to care, instead they expect you to drive back to show them! Yes, your time, your gas. your money. All they need to do is offer a credit as most well run businesses would. If I could rate them with NO STARS today, I would. They like your money, but don’t care about your expense or experience.

I rated them 1 based on the experience above, yet revising because they finally apologized and followed through by trying to correct the mistake in a customer friendly way. We thank you for that and just advise not to put customers through this. Instead, when some says that they didn’t receive what they were supposed to - immediate correct it (a credit), rather than insisting they bring the wrong product...

I’m leaving a 1 star because I was really disappointed in their response when calling to let them know I had 3 overcooked (burnt on ends and exceptionally dry throughout) coffee cakes. I went in and purchased on a Sunday, they were wrapped individually, and I brought them as gifts to three different households I visited that day. Each house I visited, they opened the box and it was an over cooked coffee cake. The bakery is closed on Monday, so I called Tuesday to let them know. They asked me if I had them to bring in, and, of course I didn’t, and then she put me on hold and spoke with the bakers and the manager, and their response was the cakes were not over cooked. However, I was calling to tell them my actual experience. She said the counter workers should have shown me the cakes before they taped the boxes. This was just all a very disappointing experience as I have been a customer here for as long as I’ve lived in the area. With even not looking for a monetary return, the manager and bakers should have at least returned with an apology rather than their response being “they weren’t burned”. Left me with a bad taste...
