Tiny's Tavern — Restaurant in Jefferson Township

My wife and I went there for the first time. There was an old white lady who was very rude, Staring down at us, I said "hello, good afternoon" twice and didn't respond. We decided to leave right away, because of how we were treated. As 2 black people, we always feel that we need to watch for how white folks treats us. We are very respectful people and love to make friends and being kind to others. We think that she could be racist by the way she treated us. We searched the reviews on Yelp, many people complain about this person. It is sad that she is allowed there to do this to costumers who just want to have a good a good time in Lake Hopatcong. Also the place stinks of cigarettes, it doesn't have a pool table.

Overall, this place has horrible customer service, and needs to be more taken care of. I believe in second chances for anyone. So if the owner is capable of responding to my comment and concerns with a plausible explanation and solutions, I would consider going back there with my family and friends. But for now, I will recommend anyone in the area or visiting...

The Worse Experience Ever!!!! Yesterday Sunday 7/23/23 8:15pm I arrived to Tiny Tavern my Dad and I were exhausted from the long drive wanted to stop grab a quick bite. We parked across the way to take pictures of the sunset when a lady with long hair swings the door open yelling towards us, I was just getting out the car as I’m hearing her screaming from the top of her lungs! I could not believe my ears my Dad turns to me concern,”what’s going on with her?” Right then in there she showed us we’re not Welcomed in her town and definitely not in that dive of a tavern! Here we’re out of towners celebrating my Dad’s birthday and you have these locals feeling as if they own Lake Hopatcon,NJ I have family in the area and they were appalled by our experience in the town where they call home!...

Quaint place, never a large crowd. They have a small carry-out aisle with beer and wine. Have never seen more than one bartender - again with the 'never a large crowd' - the same two older ladies. Good spot if you're looking to spend quality time with just your friends... or just by yourself. Don't expect anything special. This is a bar for drinkers, not for people expecting their liquor to taste like...
