Hello, Im writing this to inform you that there is racism and poor service at this location. A gentleman of color who was coming to take his clothes out of the washer at the flying J here so that i could put my clothes in, complained the reason it took him so long to come get his clothes was that he said that the waitresses there that day took over 20 minutes to bring him his meal which, I let him know i was headed over there to also get something to eat. When i did get there at the Denny’s, Little did i know that they had sat me at the same table as the gentleman who had came to get his clothes out of the washer. That gentleman had came back in and noticed, his canada dry gingerale was not at the table as he was still sitting there and he complained about it. The waitress said she never saw it at the table in which a young lady across from his table i was currently sitting at, said she did see his Canada Dry at the table where i was currently sitting at which was his table. So the waitresses lied. I was seated at a table behind the young lady of color. The young lady of color and her hispanic boyfriend got up from their table behind me and said they weren’t coming back there anymore and walked out because of what they noticed about how the waitresses were treating specific people. I ordered a tbone steak to which i was told they didn’t have any tbone steaks which was odd to me so i built a plate with extra bacon, 3 sausages, some hash browns, scrambled eggs and orange juice. When my Orange juice was brought to me , i was given without a lid and a straw. I asked the waitress who had just taken my order could I be brought a straw and she said ok. 2 mins past and im looking directly at her attend to another gentleman taking his order while also at the register where the straws were right there to her right. Im a man of color and i know disrespect and poor service when i see it and I feel this is unacceptable because now I’m going to leave a review to let everyone know what’s going on with this particular Dennys not only to me but to others of color who spend their nights away from family driving being a provider, or take road trip and stop in just to get a bite to eat and have to deal with such prejudices. Inside the flying...
Read moreI want to add to my wife's comments about our experience at this diner. When I arrived, there was no staff to greet us. There were two customers at the register waiting to pay. The waitress came up and told us we will be with you in a minute. In the meantime, two more customers came up to pay. This would have been a good time for the waitress to ask for help. It also would have been a good idea for the other waitress or the manager to look out front to check and see if anyone was out there. Not to mention that tables needed to be wiped down anyway. The waitress from the register finished and was going to seat us, but said wait I have wipe down a table for you first. She left for what had to be 3 minutes. Then waitress two asked us if we have been helped. I told her that we are waiting to be seated. It was at this time that I saw waitress one bring food for customers. Again, another lesson in communication on waitresses part and management lesson for manager. I then ask waitress two for a manager. A person came up to me and said you wanted to see me. I asked her, are you the manager? She said yes, but never gave me her name. We tried to explain our displeasure. The manager went on the defensive and started giving excuses for waitress. My wife told her to stop giving excuses, which the young looking manager appeared to be offended by. The manager then asked us sarcastically, "What is the resolution for this situation?" My wife told her angrily "train your waitresses" Manager told us we could eat somewhere else. I said let's go. My wife mentioned again that she needed to train her waitresses. Next thing I know I am being thrown out and being threatened with having the Sherrif called on me. This young manager needs some training. She needs thicker skin and better people skills. Communication is another big problem here between manager and waitresses when it comes to...
Read moreI should have known that something was wrong when I walked in and a waitress was yelling to the kitchen, "Do we have waffles tonight?" as I have never been to a Denny's that didn't have breakfast items. The server listened to our order, but she wrote nothing down. She took longer than usual to get our drinks but stopped twice to tell us that she would be bringing us our drinks. While we waited for our food, two of her customers that she also didn't write anything down for required corrections to their orders: missing bacon for one and incorrectly cooked eggs for the other. After 36 minutes, I asked her to please bring any portion of our grand slam breakfasts out that were ready. She came back with nothing and an explanation that they were cooking our food. After 51 minutes, we laid a $10 bill on the table for our single glass of chocolate milk and two waters; none of which were ever refilled. At no time did she stop by to tell us what was wrong nor to even check on us. I did hear her explain to another table that she was a breakfast waitress not used to the evening cooks, but she would seem like a bad waitress at anytime of day. Unfortunately, she was not alone as she seemed to be the most qualified person and busiest person on the floor. A colorful-haired manager watched and disappeared, but she did nothing to assist any of the dirty tables, two waitresses yelling about orders, cooks who were slow, nor front customer check-ins. When we left, she said, "Sorry" but nobody ever offered to check on our order nor give any indication of what is so wrong at this poorly run, slow Denny's. One suggestion I would make is for the manager not to seat customers so far from the kitchen. These two waitresses who never used a tray to carry anything out were running themselves ragged dragging a dish at a time across the longest Denny's I have...
