**The following review has nothing to do with the waitress. She WAS very good at her job.

Now, please read below.... Family and I came to eat at this establishment while visiting our other family. I have had bariatric surgery so I can't eat a full serving of a lot of things. Others in my family that were with are in the same boat. Each of the dinners we had came with a trip to the salad bar. Considering the price I was paying, I wasn't going to pass it up and knowing my 7 yr old son and his cousins were with, I knew Any food we personally didn't eat off our own plates wouldn't be wasted. Sure enough at least 2 of us had food we couldn't eat that we took. It was things like carrots and some tomatoes so we gave our leftover stuff to the kids. Moving forward, dinner was anything but impressive. My fish was dry. My mom's fish was dry didn't have a lot of flavor. My daughter's shrimp was mediocre. My cousins steaks were way over cooked on half their meat and the other half was still over cooked just not as badly. It was then to leave, we go to pay and my family was charged extra money saying that the kids took trips to the salad bar when they didn't. We literally gave them our leftovers so it wouldn't just go in the garbage. We tried to dispute but, were told it's the owner's policy and there was nothing that could be done. We will not be back again. So, just be aware and know what you could be walking Into...

We had a group of 4 adults and 2 kids for breakfast here. It was a busy July 4th holiday weekend so we expected a wait for a table. We waited for about 25 minutes for a table which was fine.

Once we were seated, we made our orders and our pop and coffee were served quickly.

Inexplicably, our food took about an hour to be delivered to our table. The waitress made no explanation or apology for why it was taking so long until about 50 minutes in when she said our food was "up next". To her credit, she was pretty good about keeping our cups refilled while we waited. The kids were patient but started to get restless after a while, as expected. There were no kids menus or coloring pages to occupy them.

I ordered eggs, a pancake, and hashbrowns. Everyone else ordered breakfast too. All were forgettable and did not nearly make up for the long wait. We would have appreciated a warning before we were even seated about how long food was taking and we would probably have gone somewhere else. The food was not cheap and even a "family" diner should have a higher level of service.

I understand this was probably one of their busiest weekends of the year but this place has been around for decades and should know how to handle a rush and how to communicate with customers.

I would not recommend this place unless maybe it's midweek during the...

I hate to leave bad reviews unless I truly feel like I got ripped off by an establishment. We stop here every now and then when we are passing through and each time it is pretty dissapointing, but this last time made us decide to never return. For myself, my husband, and my toddler son our meal came to $57 (not including a tip). So a kid's meal, two adult meals, and two adult drinks cost $57. I'm not opposed to a large dining bill if I loved my food, service, and portions, but that was not the case. The portions were so small-we all walked away still hungry. Our waitress hardly said a word to us, dropped our food and ran away without asking if we needed anything else and then didn't come back until we had all finished our food. We did need things, and went without them because we got sick of waiting. I understand prices going up, we've seen it at other restaurants as well but I could not believe how expensive this place was and how little food they give you. We felt ripped off and were dissapointed by how ignored we felt by our waitress dispite the restaurant being practically empty. Maybe we will try dining again in a few years to see if...

Great little roadside eatery, everything you hope for when you see a place like this while driving along. They also have some other items like jams and cookies and pie, besides the main menu being togo as well. We had a brisket melt and brisket burger, nothing fancy but it was quite good. We'd like to try the mashed potatoes and gravy (keep in mind they run out towards the end of the night) or breakfast sometime. The chocolate chip cookie and blueberry pie were both worth the little extra. It was also nice seeing a place with honeyberry jam so we grabbed one of those. Take a photo with Paul out front as well!

We are here on a Sunday evening. While it was fairly busy we were able to get a table without waiting. The service was professional yet friendly. The place was tastefully decorated with a north woods feel. I don't often order a burger but I decided to try the mushroom swiss burger. I was not disappointed. It was seasoned perfectly. The burger itself was excellent. Not greasy but still enough juice to make it great. The toasted bun added to right touch to make this burger a 9 out of 10 for me My wife had fish and chips. Her fish was excellent. . I highly recommend A Pine as a good place to eat.

Good food and prices, decent service. We stop here every year on our way back home from our family vacation. The prices here are adequate and not overpriced. Ordered the “old number four” which includes two eggs, hash browns, and toast. The food comes in good portions and is tasty. The service was decent as the restaurant was busy and they only had two servers. They definitely need more bathroom space as there is always a line for the bathroom when we come here. The bathrooms are one person for male and one for female. The bathrooms are always clean though.
