Had a 12:30 reservation at Kyle G’s for Thanksgiving. Arrived and it was very nice outside so the hostess sat us on the patio. Terrific ocean breeze and view.

Our server was Brian and we all opted to order off the menu instead of selecting the thanksgiving turkey option.

My wife had mahi-mahi Rockefeller style and she loved it and ate every bite. My niece was being adventurous and ordered a tuna steak (can’t recall the name) - she hadn’t had it before. She loved the sauce that accompanied the tuna steak and gave it a 4.5. Not bad! I had the 6oz filet and it was not as great as the other dishes. The meat was cooked perfectly so I didn’t want to say anything to our server but the cut itself had serious gristle in it. I ended up eating about half my steak and 3oz isn’t much! That said, the kitchen did their job, sometimes you just never know about a cut of meat until you eat it. We shared a couple of sides and I liked the au gratin potatoes but they are unique. There was a spice on the potatoes that I wasn’t expecting, maybe a slight cajun flair? Good though.

All in all it was a very nice thanksgiving meal, the service was fantastic, the view even better and my family was pleased and THANKFUL. 😊

Now to the only 4 stars part. I left the table early to get our car because my wife is disabled and can’t stand at the bottom of the ramp into the restaurant for more than a few seconds. Her mobility issues prevent standing and/or walking lengthy distances.

The valet guy was Dominic. Gave my ticket and proceeded to wait. And wait. And wait. By this time 3 couples behind me had gotten in their cars and left while I still didn’t even see our car. My wife was now at the end of the ramp standing (because there are no benches and I find this strange) so I ask Dominic if my car is coming and he asks me what car, etc. I remind him and he radios someone.

At this point it’s been in excess of 10 minutes and wife is contemplating going back up the ramp so she can sit down. A young man comes around the corner with our car and all is well. Or so I think. While letting my wife in our car I hear Dominic say to the valet that handed my keys to me “oh they’re complaining because you took too long they don’t like to wait.” He then said even more about it and mentioned again that I complained. All of this with my wife and niece right there, other customers standing in the valet line that clearly heard him because everyone is leaning in to see what other unprofessional comments he was about to spew.

He was the very last exchange we had with anyone in your restaurant and it’s a shame. It was thanksgiving, a beautiful day, and we had enjoyed our experience. Unfortunately, this valet has cost you a customer. I never complained, but I 100% advocate for my Disabled wife. The fact that there are no convenience benches in the valet area violates the Americans with Disabilities Act because you have failed to provide proper accommodations for disabled. Second, I do not pay over $300 for a meal for 3 to then have my party be criticized and humiliated in public by an employee of the establishment. Dominic’s behavior and language was unprofessional and discriminatory. My wife is medically disabled and for him to carry on in the manner in which he did is not only unprofessional, it’s unacceptable and I will not tolerate that from anyone but especially not service personnel.

Your valet provided a terrible ending to what the front and the back of the house had scored 5 stars. Educate your people about disabilities. Just because someone doesn’t appear disabled doesn’t mean they aren’t. Dominic should not be a valet at a restaurant with this...

Finally went to Kyle G's.. for Robs bday.. but it's also a place I've been wanting to go to for awhile.

First off.. the service was impeccable. Back in September we went to a 4 Diamond restaurant in Orlando that I wasn't impressed with.. food wise or service wise.. the service alone at Kyle G's deserves a 4 Diamond rating. Like, crumb sweepers were involved (cause I can't take Rob anywhere nice). Our server was Monica.

The food was fantastic. Let's start with the bread.. extra points because the butter is whipped and SPREADABLE! I HATE cold hard butter served with bread that ya can't spread (Lookin at you 4 Diamond restaurant). 15/10 on the spreadability test. Extra points for being whipped and having the perfect salty/sweet balance. Oh, those crackers remind me of something familiar but I can't quite put my finger on it... they're not plain.. maybe tastes like Ritz Crackers? Not quite sure but they're buttery.

For apps we got the Mussels and split the Lobster Bisque. I'm not going to judge the Lobster Bisque because I don't like Lobster Bisque. I know.. shocking. I wanted French Onion Soup.. but Rob wanted Lobster Bisque... so... onto the Mussels. There must've been like 50 of them (I'm exaggerating).. they seemed endless. They were clean and PLUMP. They come with garlic toast.. which (duh) is meant for soaking up the delicious broth.. that's the point where my eyes rolled to the back of my head. Monica offered us more bread to sop up the broth which I declined because I was getting full and we still had entrees and the possibility of dessert.

As for the entrees. Rob wanted the Rockefeller Mahi but they were out of Mahi.. so he went with the Broiled Australian Lambchops-double boned-porcini rubbed-which you can taste. Savory, earthy, meaty, cooked medium rare. Comes with a chimichurri and Balsamic sauce which Rob asked for on the side since he's picky but he ended up loving the chimichurri.

I got the Scallops and Shrimp..upon arrival I smelled something.. what's that? I thought..Oh yeah.. there's truffles in this...Truffle Corn Puree to be exact. It's served on top of mashed potatoes (standard) and with wild mushrooms (yum).. Just because I'm so over potatoes everywhere I think I would've preferred this to be a grits dish. But, the Scallops were super tender and like butter as God intended.

So, this is when I start dessert negotiations. I definitely want a Creme Brulee and Rob wants nothing so I try to entice him by letting him know there's a dessert that's lit on fire. That didn't work so I started getting sad because I wanted to try a dessert but I'm so full that I can't eat an entire dessert by myself. So I start pondering if they can do a Creme Brulee To-Go and how they'd even do that.. thinking it was impossible we declined dessert. But, since Monica can read minds she was like "not anything to go?" and me thinking this was going to be the stupidest question ever said "you can't do a Creme Brulee to go can you?" (preparing the thought to be immediately rejected).. Monica responds "We sure can!". I way overthought how they'd do a Creme Brulee To-Go.

Oh! That's a housemade Mint Lemonade I have there.

Next up we're going to try Brunch and Oceanside outside.. as much as possible because I have a lot more of the menus and Kyle G's other...

Weekend getaway to Hutchinson Island. Decided to have Sunday dinner oceanfront at Kyle G’s. We did not make reservations in advance but we (party of 3) were seated immediately when we arrived. The restaurant has remarkable views of the beach and ocean. We were greeted by our server, Julia, who made recommendations on drinks and some Food options. We were informed of the 16% service charge and that was no surprise since we expected to receive the best service here anyway. We decided to dine from the 3 course menu ($50 per person, great deal) as there were options that all 3 of us would like. In addition to the 3 course meals, I ordered truffle lemon butter oysters and a side of lemon grilled broccolini because that’s one of our fave veggies and we love a hot veggie with our dinner meal. Appetizers were very good. The oysters are small but phenomenal! My husbands wedge salad was a little small for him but he said it was delicious. My daughter ate and enjoyed all of her crab dip. Entrees arrived and they looked beautiful but were somewhat lacking on flavor. Husband had Parmesan crusted chicken, daughter had salmon with quinoa and cranberries, I had Parmesan crusted flounder with whipped potatoes and coleslaw. My husband said his chicken was bland and added salt and pepper. He enjoyed the whipped potatoes but the Cole slaw didn’t accompany the meal too well for him. I tried my flounder and it was also bland but I squeezed half a lemon on it and that improved the flavor somewhat. My daughter had no issues with her salmon and she ate every morsel of her meal. I waited a while for the hot veggie - grilled broccolini but it didn’t arrive with the rest of the meal. Later on we mentioned it to the server and she replied “oh don’t worry, it won’t be on the check because I forgot to put it in the order”. This was a little annoying since we were looking forward to that part of the meal. I took the rest of my meal to go and we ordered desserts: 2 key lime pies (very delicious) and a tiramisu. I watched other meals and desserts coming to other tables and I will say the upside down pineapple cake looks magnificent. It was not an option on the 3 course menu. Our server returned with our check and when we looked at it, we noticed it was not for our table. We signaled her to return and she said “oh” then went to get the correct check. When we received the next check, we noticed that we’d been charged for 4 (not 3) of the $49 3 course meals. An apology and charge reversal for that mistake. At the end of our visit I asked to speak with the manager to offer feedback on the dining experience. Specifically related to the overlooked broccolini order and the $49 extra charge it’s my expectation that any establishment with a 16% service charge will provide the very best service and that was not our experience at Kyle G’s. The manager listened, apologized and acknowledged our feedback. He was amazing and let us know that our feedback is important and apologized that we didn’t have the experience that Kyle G’s is known for. Our full check was comped. I cannot say if we will return to Kyle G’s as the food was somewhat underwhelming and the service did not meet our...

I cannot say if we will return to Kyle G’s as the food was somewhat underwhelming and the service did not meet our expectations.
