Although they have an extensive menu, their prices are beyond ridiculous. We wanted a quick meal for us and the kids but chose to go to an actual sit-down restaurant because we got higher quality food and service for a much lower price. $9 for a burger?! I'd pay that if it was exceptional, but it was far from. Pretty run-of-the-mill, actually, not to mention you have to get it and run, causing the food to lose most of it's appeal by the time you get it back home. The staff seemed like they wanted to be anywhere BUT there, which made us want to be anywhere BUT there as well. The ice cream is pretty standard too, and for newbies to the town, we expected a lot more from a place we'd heard so much about. We'll drive to the Independence Dairy Queen and, even with the high price of gas, get better food, find a better selection, enjoy better portion sizes, and get friendlier service, and we'll still save money (and time, as it took them almost 20 minutes to fulfill our modest order). Step your game up folks; this is why small businesses are being overrun by bigger companies. It's a shame...
Read moreThis place looked cool and got fairly good ratings, so we gave it a try. The service started out ok, but it got worse. Once we were able to place our order, we waited. The only waitress in the place came back to tell me that they were out of the item that I had ordered. She gave me a menu again and then took several other to go orders. She still did not return to take my order. They were already cooking my partner's order. He got up to ask about coming and taking my order. She returned and gave the excuse about filling other orders. Finally, after 25 minutes, our food arrived. Our sandwiches were tasty, but I'm pretty sure that my "homemade" chili was slightly warmed up Hormel from a can. This was very disappointing. We left an 18% tip because we thought that she could use it. Unfortunately, we won't...
Read moreHad a craving for Corn Fritters, yep. Been years since I'd eaten any and the Dairy-Kone came up as the only place within a reasonable distance that had them on the menu. 25 minute drive and I'm ordering them to find the fix I suddenly needed after many years LOL. They were not the homemade ones I was really craving, but were very good never the less. The gizzards I got along with them were not half bad either. Yea don't ask where these cravings came from as I'm only going to blame a TV show where homemade dumplings were being made. Not sure how I got to gizzards and corn fritters from that, but I did :)
What really surprised me about the place was the decor. Not something I expected at all. I would have went there for that alone. I'll let the pictures...
