Carter Creek Winery Tasting Room — Restaurant in Johnson City

We stayed at the Carter creek canyon resort and spa when we visited the tasting room with lot of excitement. We were on a girls trip and really wanted to enjoy the tasting experience. We selected the Reseve tasting which was 25$ for 5 tastings. This is how it went. First of all the lady pouring us the wine was not at all welcoming. She barely explained the wine. Some people are not interested but both me and my friend were. Then she barely poured 2 spoons of wine each time. Sorry to say I have tasted wine in Napa, Sonoma, Finger Lakes & Kelowna. I have never seen anyone pouring that meagre amount . And then the worst part was they neither had different glasses nor did they bother to rinse the glass. We had such a fun and informative wine tasting yesterday thanks to the wonderful service and hospitality by Becky and Jesus! Becky is extremely knowledgeable about wines and was effective in helping us pick the right selections for our tasting based on our preferences. We enjoyed the great energy and enthusiasm- you can tell they are proud of their products! The wines were very good and as a rosé lover I was blown away by their sparkling tempranillo rosé and bought a bottle.

Exceptional staff here that is very service-focused and friendly. Went with a huge group and we had an amazing spread of food and wines. Then into the tasting room for more great service and incredible views. Amazing atmosphere. I would love an all-adult area on the property, which might be there but I didn't totally explore, because the one improvement I heard from several in the group was there was an awful lot of kids and babies for a winery. I think because this pairs with a resort which is family oriented. A wine day may be an escape for some parents so it's a thought but did not dull the day at all.
