Jerk Flavors — Restaurant in Joliet

When I called to place an order, the younger lady picked up the phone and didn’t say a word. Wow, I said hello, hello she said I’m here. I should have said then, that’s ok, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt again. Third time going there and the service sucks, each time.

She took my nacho order and said they didn’t have any fish, ok. She told me my order would be ready in 20 minutes.

When I got there, no one came from the back to acknowledge me for 10 minutes. The younger lady came to the from and ask if I wanted to place an order.

I told her I placed my order already and that it was nachos. I then requested peppers on the nachos right, she told me, we don’t have peppers, WHAT?

No peppers on nachos is like McDonald not having fries!!!

I’m like dang, I had a taste for the nachos so bad, I went ahead and paid for them. I went down the street and bought peppers.

I waited another 20 minutes, so that was a total of 40 minutes for nachos. Me and another lady was waiting and shaking our heads.

That young lady needs to stay at home, because truly her energy is very negative and I don’t want to her touching my food with that kind of energy.

Well I gave them three tries, and I’m done with them. I got the same service with her 3 times.

That’s enough, never going back and I advise you guys don’t go there either.

Ok so if we are being completely honest idk how the jerk this place serves even qualifies as jerk… the rice & peas were mushy and bland along with the cabbage both very tasteless and unseasoned, the chicken only had flavor on the skin while the meat was just bland and flavorless. The jerk itself didn’t have any spice to it but instead had a strong vinegar smell & no joke even the Ting both green & pink tasted funny and they’re in bottles. This was my first time and upon arriving at 11am we were the first ones there and weren’t even acknowledged or greeted when we walked through the door. The prices were decent, I would’ve been highly upset if I spent over $45 and this was the result… all-in-all I wouldn’t recommend this place to anybody heck I saw a comment that said the food was salty smh I would’ve taken that over my bland dish any day! My husband and I love Caribbean food so we were super excited to try Jerk Flavors. So much so that he came home with half of the menu. He ordered jerk wings, an oxtail dinner with rice and Cabbage, jerk ribs with Macaroni and cheese and yams, callaloo and Curry shrimp with mac and cheese and corn... just for the two of us. The Macaroni was mushy and bland with very little cheese. The oxtails were burned to smithereens, oily and covered in a thick, sweet paste so the rice were also inedible. The ribs were dry, burned and flavorless. The shrimp was a shy, bland portion and Curry was poured all over the Mac that came with it. The callaloo was perfectly cooked, but completely tasteless. The chicken had ZERO flavor and the jerk sauce was watery and tasteless. How does one make a bland yam?

This was an expensive disappointment. At least we agreed on one thing......
