Sorellina by Giada — Restaurant in Joliet

I am blown away by this dining experience! We were the second party to be seated after opening and I asked if we could sit at a booth instead of a table- the hostess stated they were full and I asked how to request one for next time. I believe she thought I was giving her a hard time- I legit was not- server came with menus and made drink recommendations. Within a few minutes the manager Kelly came over to explain how to request the booth and make sure we were not upset- I explained the situation to her and she was beyond gracious and letting us know to ask for her if we need anything. Our server Cat was phenomenal. I opted for her recommendation on cocktail having the Isabella which was as delicious as it was beautiful. We had the Salumi and formaggi to start which was a lovely blend of fresh bursars, crostini, fresh olives, Gorgonzola and a tomato peach chutney with meats along with the best locally sourced honeycomb I have ever had! Hubs had the paccheri with the added chicken which was 10/10! I had the lasagna which I would rate 7/10 as it was so much heavier than everything else we had. We added sides of Parmesan mashed potato and broccolini which were both heavenly. The restaurant itself is warm and inviting, the food is superb but honestly the attention from Cat and Kelly made this trip memorable. We can’t wait to return to explore more...

Beautiful location. It is absolutely beautiful on the inside. We came and 5 drinks were not available, unfortunately. They told us about this prior to ordering which we appreciated. My friend ordered a glass of wine and received a mixed drink. She ended up drinking it anyways.

The husbands’ pizzas came out first. My friend and I waited for our entrees. By the time our entrees came, our husbands had finished their meals. The amount you pay for pasta is crazy considering how much you get. Very pricey for a palm sized amount of food. My friend’s salmon came out almost raw. We sent it back and waited 20 minutes for someone to come and talk to us.

On top of all of this, the table next to use must have been a marketing team, because they all had their phones out recording their meal along with a LARGE light. Honestly it was blinding and ruined the atmosphere. I’m not sure why they didn’t put them in the private room if they were going to be using a light that bright. The manager did try to make it right by giving us free dessert.

My wife wanted to go to the new casino in Joliet for our 38th anniversary. We walked up to the seating desk at the restaurant without a reservation and we were told they only had seating at the pizza prep bar, we're fine with that knowing we didn't make a reservation. On the way to be seated by the manager Kelly she asked us if we were there for a special occasion. We said yes and told her of our anniversary. We were sitting at the bar looking at the menu when Kelly came up to us and said I'm going to rearrange some of our reservations and put you and your wife at a table! We couldn't believe it! From that point on we received the most wonderful service from Tyeshia our waitress and our server, I'm sorry I don't remember her name. But all of them were so kind and attentive to all our needs!
