I’ve got a long history in food service industry, so I’m not easy to impress. Combine that with the fact that quality of food and service has really gone south most places. Lucky rabbit is an exception. In fact, they have set the bar so high, it makes other places look even worse. This place is what every place SHOULD be.
The atmosphere is fun, laid back and CLEAN. The inside is warm and inviting with cute little details. Someone really cared about your experience when they put this place together. The outside has a fenced in dog area, there is plentiful seating, firepits and not jammed together. It was carefully planned.
The food is excellent and has unique touches and at a very fair price, with big portions. The drinks are delish and priced far lower than anywhere else. Drinks and food came quickly and were perfect temp and no mistakes.
Personally, what really makes this place a standout is the service. We were spoiled by Amanda, Scarlet and Zach. We wanted for nothing. We walked in and were greeted by Amanda. She was friendly, welcoming and knew the menu and each ingredient, as though she had written it herself. I have some food restrictions, due to a recent surgery and this sometimes makes servers get s little surly. They think i’m being picky… and it ruins my experience. With Amanda, not only was she happy to make sure I got what I wanted, but she made double sure that nothing was on my plate that would cause me an issue. She never made me feel uncomfortable about it, and in fact she made me feel very accepted and appreciated and treated me with compassion and understanding. She was so like-able and easygoing. She does her job with pride and a great attitude. It’s clear she loves her job, because it shows in her excellent service and in her skills. If I had a restaurant, I’d steal her away and have her run it.
Scarlett also took care of us, because they all work as a team.. they support each other and put the guest first. She was so kind and friendly and made awesome drinks. She was fantastic!
Zach, was amazing. He apparently is new, but you’d never know it. He goes out of his way to get you whatever you need. He made it clear several times that they all LOVE working here. He was equally amazing.
From the second we walked in, until the second we left, we were treated like we were their only guests. Obviously we weren’t but it’s not that easy to make people feel THAT special and welcomed, but they ALL nailed it. I literally couldn’t find one thing that wasn’t perfect about the entire experience. It’s my new favorite place.
If I could build the perfect service team it would be these three. They all get a 10. Every detail, every word, every action was geared toward us feeling special and cared for, and they somehow have the energy and pride to do this all day, every day. I don’t ever realistically expect THIS kind of experience.. but they exceeded every aspect of any...
Read moreUpdate 07/29/2022: Their default lowest tip amount is now 18% with no service, all they do is turn the iPad around. You order, pay, and pick up your own food and drinks at the bar. Their "specials" are crazy expensive and small. I ordered their weekly special philly cheese steak sandwich, it was pretty small (mostly bread) and cost $18!!! It was only average in taste, not worth $18 at all. And the inside of the place is still very loud with poor acoustics, making it nearly impossible to have a conversation, even for 7pm on a week night. They should really use lower volume until later at night or for Fri and Sat. My wife and I decided we are no longer coming here for food (too expensive)...only music and drinks from time to time. They slightly expanded and repaved their parking lot which is nice.
Original Review:
The owners of the Lucky Rabbit clearly invested a lot of time and money into improving the old Rumi's Tavern. The place is hardly recognizable, but in a great way. The layout is perfect, with a second story overlooking the live music stage, and an amazing outdoor space with picnic tables and lawn chairs. Plenty of large TVs show a live view of the stage from nearly every room. The bar and many tables are made of very thick wood that looks beautiful. The drink prices are reasonable ($4.50 for a Blue Moon). The food prices are a little high ($16 for a burger) but everything tasted great. Their Nashville Hot chicken sandwich was wonderful and the Border burger was cooked just as I ordered it. I would have rated 5 stars except the place has a little work to do to be perfect. The wait time is long, to get drinks or place a food order from the bar. Maybe consider accepting orders via a mobile app, and giving the roaming waitresses a mobile checkout device. Also, there is no table service, all orders are placed and picked up at the bar. So I wasn't expecting the tip percent to start at 15% and go to 25%. Consider starting the tip at 10% if you're not going to offer table service. And not many of the wait staff had a smile on their face. They were clearly busy, but it would have been nice to see more happy faces. The bar tender in the outdoor bus was the only guy that smiled and laughed with us. Overall, my wife and I had a good time and we will be back for sure. Hopefully soon we can give this...
Read moreLucky Rabbit does not disappoint! I have had this on my list of places to visit since they opened and finally took my husband, two young daughters, and their friend around 12:30 on a Saturday afternoon. It was not crowded (although when 2:00 hit, more people started trickling in when the live band started playing). We LOVE the atmosphere - you can tell they put a lot of thought into every detail, from the layout, to the door pulls, from the decor to the lighting, and the wonderful outdoor space. There is cornhole, a stage area, literal bus that I assume serves alcohol in the evening like an outside bar, tree swings, fire pits, shade sails and large trees, turf and crushed granite (good for rainy days), TVs, a dog "park", plenty of seating, Hook & Ring game, and even an outdoor sink, and fly fans. The inside had a bar area, TVs in every area, a large separate room where the stage is, upstairs seating area, and an arcade-type space. The whole place was clean and up-kept, including the bathrooms, indoor and out.
We ordered at the bar and were supposed to pick it up from the bar when they text, but I didn't pay attention to my phone so they forgivingly brought it out to us. The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu when I asked some questions and about favorites. From the Kiddos Menu we ordered the Chicky Strips and Texas Toast Grilled Cheese, from the Brunch Menu we ordered the Chorizo, Egg, and Avocado Enchiladas, and from the Lunch Menu we ordered the Chicken Fried Steak. Everything was flavorful and delicious, and food we would definitely order again- I was pleasantly surprised with the enchiladas- SO GOOD. Even all the sides- potatoes, fries, green beans w/bacon, mashed potatoes, etc. were yummy. I ordered a margarita which was pretty good as well. It was a bit pricey overall but we knew that with the chef's high praises and it being a scratch food kitchen- it was absolutely worth it.
There is one knock that's kind of a big one in my opinion, although not enough to take off a star or ruin the whole experience. There is NO changing table for littles in the bathroom?? So I had to change her on the floor... Hopefully one is in the works!
