UPDATE 6/2024
We have always made Martell's the restaurant for us to get Prime Rib and Mushroom soup. It has been about a year since we were last able to visit. I noticed the recent reviews were not good as in the past. But having been here many times I disregarded them.
Unfortunately we were very disappointed on this visit as well. The Prime Rib was cold and not as flavorable as it used to be. No aujus was served with it. We were told it is drizzled lightly on the plate and then the prime rib is placed on the plate. The vegetables (barely 1/3 cup) that were served with the prime rib were hidden under it. Did not even see them until nearly through eating we thought they forgot the vegetables. Also there was not any aujus on the vegetables so how could it have even been put on the plate? Rolls were not served with the prime rib this time, we had to ask for them. My husband's french fries were cold when served. The mushroom soup was excellent as always.
The server never asked if we wanted refills of water or drinks. We felt as though she was agitated having to wait on us. Maybe because we asked why rolls and aujus were not served with the prime rib. We did not mention to her that the food was served cold, we just let it go not sure if it would have mattered to her or any other employee working there anyway.
I know restaurants are having issues getting help now. But when you pay $68.00 for a prime rib dinner and it is served cold, no aujus, no rolls and not even a dinner salad well you would expect to receive a decent meal and service.
So sad! No matter how much I love the mushroom soup.......we will probably not be back.
2+ years ago,.......... Best Prime Rib in the area. Only one thing could make it out of this world spectacular......if the Aujus was just a bit stronger. But we had the best service and food.
They are very accommodating. Hubby wanted French Fries and not mashed potatoes. No problem. The Campanella pasta was excellent. The Mushroom soup was to die for! Wish I could take a quart home.
This is definitely our stop for Prime Rib...
Read moreNine of us went to Martell’s for dinner. Reservations were made for 5pm. After we paid our bills and getting up to leave the manager (?) came to our table and asked us to hurry up and leave as there were people waiting for the table and we had exceeded our 2 hour limit. I could not believe my ears!! There was a whole dining area that was completely empty. When I received an email to rate my dining experience I wrote:
Last evening, for the first time in my life, we were asked to hurry our departure so the next group could have our table. She said there was a 2 hour limit on the tables!! I was shocked! I didn't see any sign stating this. I have never heard of this kind of policy. We were in the process of leaving so she got maybe 5 minutes out of doing that. Was it worth it? HOW RUDE!!! I suggest next time we make a reservation that we be informed of a time limit on the tables. That way we can be gone before our “time is up”.
Here is what they sent back: Thank you for visiting Martell's on Monday, July 22nd. Our sincere apologies for the miscommunication on the timing of your reservation. We appreciate greatly when our guests are enjoying their time with us and want them to feel at home and relaxed when visiting. We make it a point to let all of our larger groups know of surrounding reservation times at the time the reservations are made, in order to accommodate all parties involved. I'm sorry that this was not passed along to you. We are delighted that your group were enjoying yourselves and hope to see you back in the near future. Your feedback is valuable to us and we thank you for taking the time out of your day to share with us.
So now I'm appalled twice!!! Needless to say, we won’t be dining at Martell’s...

I was told that’s served outside on their menu!!! The manager was very nasty and not accommodating to my wishes for a garden salad with grilled salmon. Last time I got lettuce with bacon. We’ll stop coming to your group of restaurants as you’ve done away with the better dinner salads and with an attitude I got from the manager tonight, I won’t spend my money on a sandwich I didn’t eat!!! I ALWAYS eat salad no matter where I go!!! I do have restrictions and a nice salad isn’t too much to ask for especially since there was one on the terrace menu. I didn’t want to eat outside due to flies but, there were just as many inside and I still didn’t get my salad!!!
We’ve been coming to Martell’s for a long time. We brought my mother in law for lunch yesterday. Due to your menu changes, it’s very difficult for me to dine there anymore. You’ve removed the Tavern salad and now, I can’t enjoy much there at all. I’m limited in what I can eat. Yesterday I asked for a garden salad. The Chef refused. I got a dish of lettuce with grape tomatoes. I asked the server to ask for any fresh vegetables they could add. The chef added bacon. I don’t eat bacon. When did bacon become a vegetable? I had lettuce, grape tomatoes and I added grilled salmon with no salt, salt was added. No point in coming if I can’t enjoy a meal with my family. What’s so difficult about a nice garden salad or bringing back the Tavern salad??? Some people have dietary limitations. I don’t think asking for a nice salad...
