Chick-In Waffle — Restaurant in Kansas City

My friend and I were starving and were going to settle for some mediocre fast food. Chickn n Waffle was right next to us, so we decided to give it a shot. The expectations were low because the building looked outdated and was right next to a weed dispensary. Upon looking it up on google, I was surprised to see it had 4.7 stars! Could it be a stoners paradise? Or could the food really be that good? We ordered boneless chicken wings with the Asian chili sauce. The young lady taking our order was as sweet as a belle and had us pull aside for our wings to be freshly fried. A nice gentleman brought out our order with a smile and we unveiled the contents of the takeout container in the parking lot, only to be pleasantly surprised with the portion size and shiny glaze on the wings with sesame seeds and thick crispy fries. We tried a fry first and it was crunchy on the outside and a pillow on the inside. Immediately taken back with how perfect the fries were. One dunk into the ranch with a boneless wing, it headed straight for me mouth. I’ve eaten at this place several times, and it’s always a hit and miss, so I stopped going. Last night I decided to go give them another try and when I tell you they have improved so much !! 25 mins later I was back in the drive thru grabbing dinner for my kids. I asked the lady at the window “Who is in there cooking that chicken?!” She said “Armando” , so shout out to Armando and the whole team ! The chicken taste different than it normally does- like they have a new recipe(fire!). I can tell they listened to feed back about the bubble waffles, which would always become soggy super quick; now they offer Belgian waffles! The fries are some of the best fries in the city! And their frozen drinks are amazing ! I can’t wait to try more items from their new menu. My meal and experience was 10/10 and like I told them, I’ll be back again !

Update: came back 3/14, food STILL AMAZING ! Service is 100/100 ! I wish I would have gotten the names of all the staff members, but Jalia is bomb ! Her energy is radiant! And unlike other places where the team members barely greet you, she is ALWAYS so full of joy and happiness ! To the manager and the whole Bannister crew, thank you for your service ! I recently had the pleasure of trying food at the Chick-In Waffle, and it was an absolute delight! From the moment I had ordered to the moment I went to the window I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better.

But seriously let's talk about the food. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The waffles were fluffy and had just the right amount of sweetness. The combination of flavors was simply mouthwatering. It's like a match made in heaven for your taste buds.

And the speed of service is remarkable. It's a fast-food restaurant, after all, so you can grab a delicious meal on the go without sacrificing quality.

Chick-In Waffle is a hidden gem that deserves recognition. If you haven't been there yet, I highly recommend giving it a try. You won't be disappointed, I am looking forward to coming back to Kansas just for this! Thank you again!!
