GJ Fish & Chicken - restaurant & fast fried food — Restaurant in Kansas City

I tried with this place. On my first visit, I ordered the fish, and it was very hard almost to the point of being unbeatable. There is no seasoning on the food. The appearance will fool you because you see specks of pepper on the fish, I'm hoping those were specks of pepper. Anytime you go to a restaurant and they get an attitude because you're watching them prepare your food is a huge red flag. The kitchen staff was eating and got perturbed when the cashier told him I was watching him. He then put on a plastic apron. I watched as he dropped the box of plastic gloves on the floor and then picked them up. He didn't wash his hands because, I guess, he was wearing a plastic glove on the hand he performed this action with. He changed his glove. Today, i went to their establishment again. Only this time, I asked that the fish not be fried hard, hoping that would improve the flavor. It didn't ! Knowing that this may be my last time coming to this restaurant. I ordered fish and chicken. Both were a huge disappointment and waste of money. There is a reason this place is always empty. It's not due to speedy service! I sincerely don't recommend this place. The fries were hard, and the chicken tasted old and overcooked. The fish, though it had a lighter color it still was hard and non flavorful. Save your money, time, and appetite! Go elsewhere for...

Was my 1st time eating here. I ordered the 1/2lb gizzards, 1/2lb catfish nuggets, and small onion rings. The gentleman who took my order was very polite and pleasant to talk to. Told me it would take 10mins to get my order ready. With being told that I assumed it was made to order. I was not disappointed with my food at all... frsh and crispy!! I got the spicy seasoning, not sure what to expect. It has a nice bite to it, but not overpowering that it takes away from the taste of the actual food. My only knock on the seasoning was the mix tasted like it was a lil heavy on seasoning-salt. If I have the chance to stop in again...most...

Wanted some good fish , so disappointed. Ordered tilapia combo, 2 tilapia, 6 shrimp, lil coleslaw, fries, 2 slices bread, can of soda. Hot sauce, coleslaw, and what i think was a little cup of ketchup/hot sauce mixed, was good. Seasoned fries ok because I like soft fries. Shrimp ok. Both tilapia looked nice size, tho very thin, but half of that was just crunchy breading, absolutely no fish. 12 minutes until home to eat, barely warm. By the last bites, the fish had a weird dry texture to it. Even dunked in sauce. $13.99 plus tax, tip, and online order convenience fee, this disappointing dinner...
