I’m going to give this place 1 star for the discriminatory practices I went through earlier this year. While it was awhile ago I still think about it at least once a week. Feb 25th to be exact. I was new to Kansas City and one of my first sit down experiences. Noted I got there approx. at 5:36 pm, had a 30 min wait time, and I was promptly back in my car by 6:22pm (which I took a picture so we could give or take 4 minutes to get to this point). So at most 20 minutes but I’m guessing 18 minutes between a table of at least 8 people. While we waited for a table to open on a busy night we decided to visit the bar. I remember our group approaching the bar and the bartender stepping back and looking scared. We were all dressed like we had somewhere to be after this. Maybe I’m overthinking the subtle racism. When we were finally seated I kid you not two minutes later the waitress is literally snapping and rushing us to order and trying to take the table we asked for the reservation. Granted all of our party was not there at the time, so I understand the need for the table, but we could’ve had at least ten minutes to have all our guest seated properly. However we asked for 5 mins and she started arguing with us again and shifting the table around aggressively saying how busy she is and how she doesn’t have time for this. I tell you it was like they stereotyped us and treated us terribly. I don’t think any of us got to the part of ordering food before we decided to leave that’s how terrible and instant this service was. I believe 10 minutes into seating we asked for the manager to explain this hostile environment and he treated us just as bad. Then they called their security or police to make sure us jigaboo’s made it out their restaurant. Anyway as a Navy Veteran I don’t like confrontation and even put on my own customer service voice to diffuse this confusing scenario. I’m the least person to want to cause any problems and even have problems correcting anyone because I don’t want to be a bother. So literally I am taken aback by this whole interaction as this is the worst I’ve ever been treated in the restaurant industry. Actually other than a slow response time I’ve never been treated with such disdain and prejudice at a restaurant in my 25 years. Also according to research 23.4 minutes is considered to be too short of a dining experience. The typical amount of time is 60-90 minutes. And we...
Read moreThis is the worst Margaritas around poor management services Saturday, February 17th 2018... We have ate here off and on for over several years but no more. We told our waitress what we wanted for our meal and she brings the Margarita out that was fine. Then told her we would like the two #5 baja, the enchiladas with beef,my boyfriend has his the right way. 2 beef enchiladas, beans and rice, plus one taco... mine was supposed to be the 2 beef enchiladas, double the beans with no rice at all,and one taco... Will didn't go that way, boyfriend plate was the way it should be.But mine was messed up 3 times, first it came out with I guess 2 beef enchiladas, double rice and taco, second plate came out the cook just scrapped the rice off the plate and added the beans... So still rice on plate, waitress took it back the 3rd time and the cook moves the same food to a clean plate like it was no big deal to him.. or the management or waitress could care less about any thing....we spoke to the management twice and never got my dinner right and never got dinner Saturday. The manger just took my plate and said nothing and about that time the waitress come back with a receipt and to go box for my boyfriend dinner, like here and get out of our restraunt is how,it felt... didn't even get to finish our margaritas drinks...yes they did not charge us for my dinner but that is not the point. It's how it was done is the point of view... I called Monday and talked to the manger Mike he said he would replace both meals. Ok I said... Then he called back after he talk to Jason about it and then decide not to do anything about tbere bad services to there customer. Lost 2 customer for life, I know 2 doesn't matter as long as you keep serving the food the way you do. Wonder how many people would stop coming in when they say there dinner not right and your cook just scrap it off and send it back to you... if customer only know this...and told no cooperate manger, hmmm... then told by Mike that Jason the head Boss .. hmmmm Customer watch how your food come out to you.. I give this restaurant no stars period... What if a person had allergies to the rice I asked and he could care less on that also. I asked what if that was your wife, girlfriend still nothing no care at all by the...
Read moreMargarita's on Southwest Boulevard is a great place to enjoy authentic Mexican food and drinks. I have been going there for years and I always have a satisfying experience. The service is friendly and attentive, the atmosphere is cozy and festive, and the food is delicious and fresh.
The restaurant was established in 1985 by Dave Quirarte Jr., who wanted to share his family recipes and passion for Mexican cuisine. He started with a small location on Southwest Boulevard, and now has five locations throughout the Kansas City area. Margarita's is known for its award-winning salsa, which is made daily with fresh ingredients. You can also buy their salsa and seasonings online or at local grocery stores.
The menu has a variety of dishes to suit any taste, from tacos, burritos, enchiladas, and chimichangas, to salads, soups, sandwiches, and burgers. They also have vegetarian and gluten-free options. My favorite dish is the chicken fajitas, which come with grilled peppers and onions, rice, beans, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, and warm tortillas. The portions are generous and the flavors are amazing.
Of course, you can't go to Margarita's without trying their margaritas. They have a full bar with a selection of tequila, beer, wine, and cocktails. Their house lime margaritas are refreshing and smooth, and they have daily drink specials and happy hour deals. They also offer catering services for any occasion.
If you are looking for a fun and satisfying Mexican restaurant, you should check out Margarita's on Southwest Boulevard. It's a Kansas City tradition that never...
