It's becoming more and more clear to me with each food business that I visit in Martin City, the more I understand about it and why it's so special. Anyone who likes pizza even in the slightest needs to try this stuff out. It may be a smidge pricey, sure, but it's definitely worth it if you can spring for it.
Seriously, they take good care of their food, and it shows. The cheese bread has an awesome stretch to it, and the way it's made allows for it to have a good amount of cheese on the inside. The soft pretzels are also dynamite -- and I'm almost tempted to say that they should open a bakery with how good the crust is too.
But obviously there's more to pizza than bread, of course. The Carne pizza is a good example of what to expect with the toppings they have here -- if you guessed generic chain pizza, you guessed wrong. Even the slices of Canadian Bacon have some nice flavor to them. Suffice it to say, everyone at our table was impressed.
Now, there were a couple of people with us that were unsure about trying pizza with garlic alfredo sauce as the base, but once we got a hold of the Philly Cheesesteak... no complaints. I think they may have learned something that day.
I just wish there was a quieter place to dine, considering how noisy it can be on the inside. That, and my dad was beginning to feel a touch dizzy due to the flooring beneath our table being a bit uneven, making the stools a touch wobbly. There is also rather limited seating on the inside to begin with.
That said, there is always the option to take both the pizzas and beer to go, so one can always eat (and drink) in the comfort of their own home. The murals on the outside do look rather nice though!
Overall, I'm glad I ended up coming here -- it certainly makes up for my original plan to go to Marco Polo's Italian Market for my (late) birthday meal, only to find out they suddenly went on vacation. But whatever, gotta think on the positive side... and I'm glad this place is much closer to home too. So yeah, it's rather likely I'm gonna come back here in the future if I want some good stuff -- I'm extremely tempted to give their brussels sprouts and Apples in Italy a...
Read moreUPDATE #2: I met a friend for lunch and had a nice visit here again. The bloody Marys were on point and the service was food. The pizza took forever, and I think the server forgot to put it thru, but it was really good when it finally arrived. I still highly recommend them! UPDATE: we went this last Friday and had a much different experience. The place was busy as usual. We were sat I. Front of the fireplace by the mastic ft door that was wide open and we were cold, but my wife didn't want to change seats, so we stayed. Our server was a new face to us and she was not very good at her job if you ask me. Our drinks went empty and her return visits were a long time in between. It was the first time we didn't tip 20%+. Hopefully things will be better next time. Original Post: We have been going to the Martin City Brewing Company ever since the CoVid-19 shut down closed up our old watering hole at RC's Back Door Grill. The food is fabulous and the staff is the greatest here at MCBC... From the appetizers to the salads to the oven baked pizzas, you really can't go wrong! My wife and I have made our Friday Night Date Night to MCBC a weekly thing to meet with our friends and unwind from the week. You should check them out if you're in Martin City! Sometimes there can be a bit of a wait when the weather is nice, but I promise it's worth it...
Read moreWe were in town for baseball tournament, and couldn't decide where to go, but we knew we wanted some pizza. This place was recommended by someone we knew in the area, so we decided to try it out. Excellent!
We went on a Sunday, which turns out they have all day happy hour, so that was an added plus. They had $2 off on their beer as well as appetizers had decent discounts too.
We ordered two appetizers: brussel sprouts and pork tips. We all really enjoyed the Brussels a lot! Pork tips on the other hand were not near as good. Pretty dry, very gristly, and just overall not that great.
For the main dish, we had two 8-in pizzas (appetizers) and a sandwich. We ordered a bacon pizza and a brisket pizza. Both were excellent, but they bacon pizza was our favorite! The sandwich on the other hand was nothing to brag about. Pretty blah, and just basic. Not a lot of flavor, but wasn't bad either. Would not order that again. Pizza on the other hand, I would order tomorrow if...
